A Killing Peace w/ Rasha Abdulhadi (Part One) (04/18/24)
Beatrice speaks with Rasha Abdulhadi about the last six months in the escalation of genocidal violence against the people of Palestine, what has and hasn’t changed since the last time Rasha spoke with us on October 13th, and why appeals to “peace” are not the same as calls for liberation.
This is part one of our conversation with Rasha. Part two will be released next week in the public feed, alongside a transcript.

Beatrice, Artie and Abby discuss the recent book “Within Reason: A Liberal Public Health for an Illiberal Time,” which presents itself as chronicling public health’s many missteps since the beginning of the covid pandemic, but in practice wants to draw our attention to all of the wrong conclusions.
The book we discuss in this episode was also the subject of the NYT column we talked about in the episode "Masks and Symbols" in January, here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/masks-and-01-29-97441318

Letters from Gaza w/ Danya Qato
This episode was originally released on January 25th. We are re-releasing it today as we approach the sixth month of the ongoing genocidal campaign on Palestine, with a new introduction and a brief update at the end.
Beatrice shares messages from Death Panel listeners in Gaza and speaks with Danya Qato about how the totalizing nature of the genocide of Palestine can't be captured in death and injury statistics alone.
This episode is for Z, J, R, A, M, G and S.

Best healthcare policy podcast!
I got into listening to death panel from a bonus episode of Beep Beep Lettuce that Bea guested on. I started with listening to the excellent Medicare for All week.
The episodes are amazing and very informative and cover the political struggles around healthcare justice, economic inequality and policy proposals in great detail. Plus they have a lot of excellent guests on their show providing perspectives that are often overlooked when discussing these issues.
Also the panel are very knowledgeable and are the kindest people - I’ve signed up to their patreon and joined the discord and they are very welcoming as are the whole community, it’s a great place to be.
Thank you to Bea, Artie, Phil and Vince! You’re all amazing!
Confidence high competence low
They laugh a lot at other peoples understanding but they don’t seem to have much experience of the world outside of US city centres. I could be wrong, maybe they have worked day jobs trying to actually improve the world but if so it doesn’t come across. They’ve read a lot of books I’ll give them that. Very strange podcast.
One of my favourites
Without a doubt the best US healthcare policy podcasts, and one of the best (US/UK) politics podcasts out there. Funny, informative, no-nonsense analysis and news. Couldn’t recommend it more to anyone interested in politics, health, or critical theory which should be... uh..... everyone
