    Chapter 137: "Goodbye, Riverdale"

CLICK HERE TO FIND US ON YOUR FAVORITE PODCATCHER. CW: Discussion of racism, trauma, grief, murder, death, bear attacks. The finale has arrived, the end of the road for all of our characters. As far as series finales go, this isn’t the worst we’ve ever seen. Everyone gets a nice send-off, there’s some genuinely sweet moments, and they nail the final moments. But after an entire final season of pointless escapades with no greater meaning, and a total refusal to go for the wildness the show has been known for, we’re left with some standard grade relief. We discuss “Chapter 137: Goodbye, Riverdale” this week on The Doghouse. If you’ve stuck around this entire run, thank you so, so much for all the listens! We appreciate everyone who enjoyed our goofy bits, shouting sessions, and general Riverdale shenanigans. For one final time - Bulldogs Forever. Chapter 135: "For A Better Tomorrow"

CLICK HERE TO FIND US ON YOUR FAVORITE PODCATCHER. CW: Discussion of conspiracy, murder, radiation poisoning, paranoia, atomic bombs, manipulation, military, murder, sexism, infidelity, child abandonment.. It’s time for the first of many false endings for this season as we inch ever closer to the final ending of this series. How convenient that the entirety of the massive “plot” we’ve been half-heartedly pointing to all season long is wrapped up within 10 minutes! How amazing that everyone is coming to their best selves in this 18th episode of the season! How stupendous that we dropped in one last weird trauma point on a beloved character before we finally send her out of this godforsaken town! We discuss “Chapter 135: For A Better Tomorrow” this week on The Doghouse. You can email us with feedback at macintoshandmaud@gmail.com, or you can connect with us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Chapter 133: "Stag"

CLICK HERE TO FIND US ON YOUR FAVORITE PODCATCHER. CW: Discussion of sex, teen sex, pornography, queer-baiting, homophobia, parental abuse, parental shame.. This week it’s all about porn! And, well, burlesque (??) as our gang all discover the magic of stag films and stripteases. Archie and Reggie get some quality time together to discover themselves, Betty learns that Polly has carved out a spicy career path for herself, and Jughead’s too busy fighting censorship to watch porn. And if that weren’t enough Cheryl and Toni decide to make their own, which seems like a real problem when these are still LITERALLY CHILDREN. Yikes. We discuss “Chapter 133: Stag” this week on The Doghouse. You can email us with feedback at macintoshandmaud@gmail.com, or you can connect with us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Chapter 132: "Miss Teen Riverdale"

CLICK HERE TO FIND US ON YOUR FAVORITE PODCATCHER. CW: Discussion of homophobia, depression, body image, sexual harassment, sexualizing minors, misogyny. Once again we have jumped to a plotline that might have been entertaining back in Season 2 or 3 but now just reads as a desperate ploy to save Ethel. And still, this show can’t get Ethel Muggs right, because she once again has to be the frumpy loner no one will ever love. Setting aside the fact that there’s still only five episodes left of this forsaken show, Shannon Purser is a delight and a treasure and Riverdale has just sort of thrown her and this character under a bus at any convenient moment. So despite some small hints at what’s to come, we wasted one more hour trying to justify Ethel as a trauma prop. Do better, Riverdale. Chapter 131: "Archie the Musical!"

CLICK HERE TO FIND US ON YOUR FAVORITE PODCATCHER. CW: Discussion of anxiety, divorce, queer-baiting. Hey, look, a musical episode! An all-original song-fest with lots of cute references to past season of the show! And yet, once again, we simply cannot enjoy it because this television show can’t bother to actually start wrapping up this story. There are 6 episodes left of this cursed show and we still, STILL have no idea what the heck is going on. Which, to be fair, is what we’ve come to expect from Riverdale. We just figured they might at least try to figure things out before the end of the series. We discuss “Chapter 131: Archie the Musical!” this week on The Doghouse. Chapter 130: "The Crucible"

CLICK HERE TO FIND US ON YOUR FAVORITE PODCATCHER. CW: Discussion of racism, child abuse, queer baiting, parental neglect, trauma. As our escape from this show drifts further and further away, we’re entering the real Red Scare as Clifford and Penelope Blossom begin their play for control of the town. Hiram and Hermoine are back for a visit too, along with, and I cannot believe I’m saying this, Geraldine Grundy. Which leads us back to the idea that the first season is replaying itself, in the 1950’s, to happen all over again. Perhaps it’s a setup for a reconciliation of timelines. Perhaps it’s something else entirely. All we know is this is way more fun than a lot of the dreck we had to deal with in between. We discuss “Chapter 130: The Crucible” this week on The Doghouse. Chapter 129: "After the Fall"

CLICK HERE TO FIND US ON YOUR FAVORITE PODCATCHER. CW: Discussion of racism, child abuse, queer baiting, parental neglect, trauma. We are well past the halfway point of this final season, and yet again, we have no idea where we’re headed. In fact, peeking behind the curtain, it seems we won’t be any closer with 6 episodes left to go. Yes, we are having plenty of fun with these jokes and scenes. Yes, the Archie comics vibes have never been better. And yes, Mary Andrews is the only pure grown-up soul in this town. But when it really comes down to it, the final episodes, how have they not figured out a plan? We discuss “Chapter 129: After the Fall” this week on The Doghouse.
