“study your craft… There are two driving forces that drive entrepreneurs and they look the same from the outside but they are very different from the inside. And one of them is passion and one of them is obsession… Passion is an energy that will take an entrepreneur and put him or her into a highly resourceful state for long periods of time. And so early in our progress as entrepreneurs we are working with great passion. Sometimes what happens is we hit a wall, we may become upon something that we don’t how to do but we feel such dogged determination that we start applying all of our energy on that one thing and we do it with what looks like passion from the outside so we are still working day and night. But what it is flipped from passion into obsession now we feel this sense of doom and I’ve got to get this done and just this horrible feeling of obligation. And most entrepreneurs cross that line without realising it. Highly successful entrepreneurs will again be mindful, they recognise the moment that they cross the line from passion into obsession. If they find themselves becoming obsessive and there is a negative energy associated they notice it and spot it early and typically what that means to the entrepreneur is that there is something that he or she doesn’t know how to do or isn’t as skilful or masterful at as he or she thinks he or she is and rather than go out and ask for help, rather than take a … Rather than go online and learn something new they just keep beating their heads against the wall. This is the death of entrepreneurship and of having heart attacks and ulcers or end up running from their businesses as if it’s a burning building. You’ve got to be willing to recognise when the passion is starting to change into a negative obsessive energy. And if it is you need to realise that that’s assigned that you need help, that you need more information and you probably need some kind of mentoring or coaching. And if you would only take that as a signal and a sign and do the right thing rather than beat your head against the wall trying to do it all yourself your life would be infinitely easier and you’d properly get much more successful much more quickly”…[Listen for More]

“get grounded, stop, absolutely stop, streamline and really focus on how you want your future to be. Don’t have 10 different things going on, that’s a mistake I made and most people make. Just stop think and sometimes is a good exercise to actually imagine that you have stepped out of yourself. If you know Michael Neill he has this amazing …it’s really worth looking it up…it’s called business robot. What would business robot do? It’s one of my favourite things. Our version is we step out of you… Step out so you’ve let go of the emotion and just look from a position of detachment, what is the best way forward for you? What is the best way? And then visualise. Spend a few a few minutes every day visualising your perfect business ”…[Listen for More]

“it’s really to know your value. That was probably the biggest problem that I had and it’s probably the biggest problem that most of our clients have when they come to us. In fact, virtually every sales call that I have we end up talking about the persons value of what they provide and most people leave having upped their hourly rates whether they hire us not. And it’s hard because what’s easy for you, you don’t place any value on. You don’t place a lot of value on your passion. The fact of the matter is other people need that skill set and it has an immense amount of value. And once you can reconcile that it makes all the difference in the world”…[Listen for More]

“launch. And then launch again. And then launch again. And launch again. And what I mean by launch is whatever you are thinking about doing do it because you will learn more in the doing the new ever will in the planning or thinking… So as the entrepreneur whatever you are thinking about doing set shorter deadlines, do it more often, launch more often, be willing to get punched by reality more often. Because every time you do you learn from it and that’s the only way 95 percent of us ever get better”…[Listen for More]

“benchmark other entrepreneurs, both successful and unsuccessful ones. And then develop your long-term strategy. When you are going to start I think you want to decide are you going to create a business that you want to harvest and have an exit strategy for down the road, you want to create a business to be a lifestyle business that funds your lifestyle or do you want to create a business that will leave a legacy. “it depends where they are. If they are very early, I would say listen to some of the things I’ve said in this episode like tenacity and playing the long game and so on. If they are further ahead on their journey, they already know that I think networking is something that everybody does but you can’t do it too much so everybody should do it more. So, whether that’s going to conferences or reaching out to people online or joining forums and communities or something like that I would say that’s probably going to do more for them and their business than a lot of the other gimmicks that they might try”…[Listen for More]
