Lars Rasmussen - Find Your Rhythm With The Co-Founder of Weav Runs & Google Maps

On this episode of The Extra Mile, I'm joined by my buddy Lars Rasmussen as we take a noisy run through the very cool Brooklyn Navy Yard. Lars is the co-founder and CTO of Weav Run, an app of adaptive music who’s unique technology seamlessly adapts a song's tempo between 100-240 BPM's — all without lessening the quality of the song. This new music format allows artists endless possibilities in designing how a song should sound, feel, and respond to a listener's movements.

Bishoy Tadros - Be Shameless and Break Barriers

On this episode of The Extra Mile Podcast, I finish up the last of our 2019 New York City Marathon series on a walk with my new friend Bishoy Tadros. Bishoy ran the marathon for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society with a goal of raising 100K for the organization. He has run multiple marathons, triathlons, and even written a book. But his greatest feat is beating Leukemia as a child, including needing brain surgery at 13 years old.

Bill Rodgers - The legendary “Boston Billy” shares the secret to winning.

Today on The Extra Mile Podcast I continue celebrating my favorite marathons- Boston and New York City- with a true LEGEND in running, Bill Rodgers. “Boston Billy” is a 4x winner of the NYC Marathon AND a 4x winner of the Boston Marathon. It’s hard to imagine what the sport of running would be like without him. We took a picturesque walk in Boxborough, MA, on a gorgeous New England day and I couldn’t have been more excited to chat with him.

Bobbi Gibb, First Woman To The Run Boston Marathon: Inspire With Truth

This is a very unique and special interview. Bobbi Gibb is the first woman to ever run the Boston Marathon. A literal trailblazer.  But also so much more than that.

Bobbi is a true Renaissance Woman. She is an author, artist and lawyer. She is very spiritual, and passionately interested in a wide range of subjects including economics, politics, natural systems, science and the phenomenon recursive consciousness.

Interesting, inspirational and uplifting

So, I listen to quite a few podcasts, and when I heard Charity Miles was starting one, I couldn't imagine what would be talked about. I'm not someone who likes to talk a lot about walking and running, even though I've used the Charity Miles app for the last few years to donate my increasing miles to charity.
I love these guys, but I thought a podcast on it would be... well, I didn't think you could make much of one.
How WRONG I was!!
From the start, listening to the first episode, interviewing the guy who founded the charity 'Water Aid', I was hooked. The style is 'relaxed conversational', the interview being carried out while walking around the city; the questions Ines I'd like to ask. All interesting, and engaging me mentally. But then there's also the visceral anecdotal stories, which grabbed me in the gut, stories of horror before the charity came along, and of thankfulness for people such as Scott Harrison when wonderful things came from the charity's work.
Same for the next few episodes . Such moving stories, not just of the founders of charities and causes, but of the people they're involved with.
I was going to wait until I'd got up to date before reviewing the podcast, but having just listened to the pilot/practice episode, that was never made to be aired, I was so touched, so caught up, by the comraderie and the message coming across in the conversation between these two amazing people- Gene Gurkoff himself and Kyrsten Sinema (so love this woman!) that I felt compelled to tell the world how awesome this podcast is and how everyone should listen to it. These guys have such common sense, such good judgement about stuff, I'm left wishing people like them were running our countries!
