04 - Gender in the Workplace
This time it was fish week, and we wanted to find a way to incorporate fish into a brunch dish without it being your typical salmon and eggs. So tara cooked up a pollack kedgeree using fish from the wonderful Sole of Discretion served with The Feconomy pink eggs and tamarind, date and chive butter.
In attendance we had Alex Hoffler, co-founder of Meringue Girls, Tali Knipe, a female chef, Caroline Bennett, founder of Sole of Discretion, Abi Nolan, founder of Supply Yoga and Mary Benson, a sustainable fashion designer.
In this episode we talk about the role gender plays in the workplace and our experiences as women working with men, especially in male dominated industries. Caroline gives us an insight into sustainable and ethical fishing, and we also have a good chat about being a mum whilst running a business, and what that actually looks like.

03 - Activism and Sustainability [Part 2]
The Feconomy Brunch Club is a networking event where the conversation is female focused and the food and drink are sourced from female led businesses. The idea is to put money back into the pockets of females, whilst enjoying a really good meal.
This time it was vegetable week, and sticking with the colourful theme, we dyed the pao with turmeric, and created a stacked Indian street-food bonanza. This included a broccoli tikki, courgette pakoras, a bright pink beetroot raita, and Feconomy pink eggs. We topped this off with edible flowers, tamarind and mustard seed mayo, and Tara's homemade Bombay mix.
In attendance we had Gina Martin, a writer and activist, Ben Hurst, head of facilitation and training at the Good Lad Initiative, Kirsti Hadley, founder of the GRL PWR Gang, Sinead Fenton, farmer at Audacious Veg, and Tara Scott, communications manager at Moody Month.
This episode is the second part of our exploration into Activism and Sustainability within The Feconomy. The conversation focuses on involving men into the conversation, small ways we can all help support The Feconomy and how we should approach the subject with children.

This episode starts with us talking about sustainability in farming and fashion, before moving on to kindness as a currency. We ended up having such an epic discussion, that we've had to split this episode into 2 parts. Catch us on the next episode when we dig deeper into activism within the Feconomy, and end with an exploration of how we can include men in the conversation.

01 - An Introduction into The Feconomy
The Feconomy Brunch Club is a networking event where the conversation is female focused and the food and drink are sourced from female led businesses. The idea is to put money back into the pockets of females, whilst enjoying a really good meal.
It kicked off with meat week, and Tara cooked up a feast! On the menu we had hogget chops from Romshed Farm and Persian-style slow cooked lamb shoulder from Lavinton Lamb, served with kimchi provided by Yumchi, edible flower salad from Audacious Veg, Feconomy pink eggs from Bulk Market, and homemade labneh on green flatbreads.
This first brunch was attended by Antigony Alti, founder of explore.her studio, Fidelity Weston, a female farmer, Lily Hirasawa, founder of Yumchi, Rosie Reed, a sculptural artist, and Hazel Mead, a freelance illustrator.
We begin this first episode explaining our reasons behind starting this venture, before dipping into the post-brunch discussion at the table.
Join us as we explore the female economy across different industries, and the inequality within business funding, and support.
