Wave pools
Wanted to comment on your wave pools will ruin surfing discussions.
I’m a rock climber as well as a surf, guess you get that climbing walls (gyms) are a thing i reckon they’re to climbing what wave pools are to surfing. They bring all the bad things to climbing that you fear wave pools will bring to surfing but they keep those things to the climbing walls. Climbing outside is still king to the core climbers because to us climbing gives us the experience of battling/enjoying nature and the weather. What the climbing walls do give us is the chance to practice our art while the weather or daylight prevent us being outside, this is how I think wave pools will affect surfing. What you might see is a jump in the ability of those core surfers particularly in the surf starved parts of the world (east coast of the uk for example)
