Going where they have gone before, Andy and John return to the Gotham streets and examine the fears, frustrations and fantasies of Bruce Wayne's greatest opponents...his fans.
More than once upon a time in Hollywood, the passion of making a movie and the realities of production have failed to come in sync, leaving behind only the dreams and whispers of a film that Never Happened. Joining this illustrious club of rejects, John and Andy dig into the vault of old and new movies that failed to make it to the starting line...while also debating the merits of many that did. From a lost Kubrick epic to one more adventure with Snake, Harry, Axel and Max, the Saloon kicks open the attic to sneak a glimpse into the great WHAT IF.

Movie/film podcasting's finest hour
Ok, the first thing to know about The Hollywood Saloon is that it is not a regular podcast. Andy and John make a new show when they feel like it. For that reason the show never feels stale or like it was a chore to record. On the contrary, it is always a pleasure to listen to, whether A and J are discussing the nearly-happened Napoleonic work of Kubrick or indulging in some fanboy memories of Rocky. They have a huge knowledge of cinema and a great sense of humour. They have strong opinions (better duck messers Bay and Ratner!) but these only help to make the show more enjoyable. Would love to see these two get their own tv show ala Ebert. Keep going guys - your effforts are worth it!
An excellent movie podcast that's different to just about every other movie podcast on the net. Rather than simply focussing on a single movie each episode, Andy and John centre on a central thesis or idea that they can riff on for hours at a time. Whether its reoccurring themes like apocalypse hollywood, or an exhaustive examination of bond movies, the Hollywood saloon always seems to be more about movie analysis than movie reviews, and as a result I always feel enlightened and informed as well as being entertained when listening to their shows. Like the great directors they reference and admire, the Hollywood saloon creators have managed to make something that will endure and that can be enjoyed over and over again. I'm looking forward to hearing more great episodes, but am happy waiting and listening to the great old ones till you guys are ready. Thanks for Hollywood saloon guys.
The near perfect podcast.
I've been a listener for a couple of years now, first when I was living in NYC and now I'm back home in London. I love it, what other medium allows for the wonderful in depth look at a given subject.
It's expanded My enjoyent of films I already loved and introduced me to movies that have changed my life.\
Keep on keeping on.
