The Horror Writers Podcast #77 - Crossroads

Welcome to The Horror Writers Podcast, the show with two horror authors discussing all things in the world of horror.
Today is an episode of the several announcements, including things Zach and J. have been working on behind the scenes and the future of the show.
NOTE: At the beginning of the episode, Zach mentions an epic rant he went on about AHS on last week’s show… well, the recording of that show messed up and we lost half the episode, so we were unable to air it.

Zach and J. welcomed back the amazingly awesome, amazingly funny, and amazingly Irish author Kealan Patrick Burke this week for another really fun episode. Between all the giggling, the boys talked about a range of topics from the state and future of horror on television, including American Horror Story and Stranger things. They also discuss Blair Witch 2016, nostalgia, beer, lightning bugs, man buns, Matlock, and all kinds of other shit that came up.

weary nerd ,

self-pub writers audio polystyrene - all filler no content

Is there a name for the stuff that's left when you run out of filler? "Yet another time-sucking product of the Internet Self Publishing 101, day 1, create-a-platform class"? There's a drowning-not-waving desperation in podcasts like this, where notional "pro" presenters desperately try to upsell their surface-skim knowledge as expertise. The duo here pride themselves on their lack of preparation, as if that wasn't clear from the results. Rich, meaty subjects like Horror and Metal or Horror and Censorship become poor-house gruel in their hands.
