There is even a bit of Tango chat thrown in, to keep things interesting. I earnt so much about Becky’s mindset and I know you will take away something special from todays episode

    Episode 22 - Hannah Lewin

    * Trigger warning – in today’s episode we talk about disordered eating and eating disorders. So if you feel like you are not in a place to be able to listen to this, please skip the episode. And reach out to someone if you need help

    Hello,

I am Bryna, and this is Ran By Nature.

Welcome to episode 22 with Hannah Lewin, a personal trainer, and founder of Mind Plus Motion – an online tool providing movement sessions and worksheets to support recovery from disordered relationships with exercise and food. This self-funded project comes from Hannah’s own lived experience, and her professional experience as a PT working with people who have disordered eating and eating disorders. Hannah approaches movement in a different way. Putting the mind and needs of the people she works with first. Offering a safe space for everyone to move their body in a way that they want to. I hope that by listening to todays episode you think about your own relationship with movement, how your words and actions shape how you feel. I would love to hear your feedback and questions following this episode. Leave a comment, a review and tag me on social media.

Episode 1 - Sustainable fashion consultant Saja Elmishri

Episode 1 - Sustainable fashion consultant Saja Elmishri

Hello.  And welcome to the first episode of the RAN BY NATURE podcast. I am Bryna Chrismas. Each week I will be joined by a guest to discuss self-care, people-care, and planet-care, and how we can increase diversity and inclusivity in these spaces. Have you ever been the only person in the room that looks like you, had to overcome the challenge of moving to a new country, or felt confused by the ethical and sustainable fashion industry? Well, that’s exactly what I am going to discuss on todays episode with Saja Elmishri. Saja is Swedish Arab. Originally from Libya, she grew up in Sweden, and later moved to the UK. Saja has always been interested in nature, is a keen runner, and trilingual. After graduating from her textile design degree at De Montfort University Leicester, where she won the best research award for her Undergraduate thesis, she currently works as a freelance journalist, sustainability advocate, and fashion consultant. Saja recently wrote an article for eco age titled ‘We Need To Include The Middle East In The Sustainable Fashion Conversation’ (https://eco-age.com/magazine/author/saja-elmishri/). This article investigated why the Middle East is often left out of this discussion, and what we can learn by looking to both Arabian designers and consumers for a new creative perspective.
I had a great conversation with Saja, as she was so honest and open about her experiences as an Arab woman entering the world of sustainable fashion. Her enthusiasm, passion and high spirited personality really shines through. And I was delighted to have Saja as my very first guest.
If you would like to connect with Saja, or you have any feedback/comments/questions, please find her @saja_elmishri. Episode 2 - rugby player Zainab Alema

Episode 2 - rugby player Zainab Alema

Hello! And welcome to the second episode of the RAN BY NATURE podcast. I am Bryna Chrismas. Each week I will be joined by a guest to discuss self-care, people-care, and planet-care, and how we can increase diversity and inclusivity in these spaces.
Todays guest is Zainab Alema. Zainab is a neonatal nurse, rugby player, mother and founder of ‘studs in the mud’ and ‘muslimah rugby’. I know, I have no ideas when she sleeps either! In this episode we talk about using courage to overcome, and navigate being a black hijabi woman playing rugby.
Would you like to make your place of work, sport, or community more inclusive? How can you make sure everyone is welcome? What kind of support system do you have around you, to ensure you can meet your goals and dreams? My favourite quotes from this episode are; ‘If you love something you will do it regardless’, and ‘it’s not about me, it’s about me doing what I can, so that the next person feels like they can achieve something’.
If you would like to connect with Zainab, or you have any feedback/comments/questions, you can find her @zeealema. And if you are interested in being part of studs in the mud and/or muslimah rugby you can connect @studsinthemud and @muslimahrugby. You can follow RAN BY NATURE on Instagram, at ranbynature, or if you prefer, you can email me at hello@ranbyntaure.com. And don’t forget to hit subscribe on your preferred podcast platform, to ensure you never miss an episode.
Let’s take care of our home, and the home we live on, together.

Episode 3 - athlete and entrepreneur Mariam Farid

Episode 3 - athlete and entrepreneur Mariam Farid

Hello! And welcome to the third episode of the RAN BY NATURE podcast. I am Bryna Chrismas. Each week I will be joined by a guest to discuss self-care, people-care, and planet-care, and how we can increase diversity and inclusivity in these spaces.
Todays guest is Mariam Farid. Mariam is a member of the Qatar National team, representing Qatar as a 400 m hurdler. She was an ambassador for the 2019 World Championships in Doha, the first time these championships were held in the Middle East. She is also a communications student at Northwestern University in Qatar, and an entrepreneur. She very recently launched her own brand called Jama.  Mariam shares a funny story, with a very important message about her first time competing in the Gulf championships. Last week we spoke about to Zainab, a hijabi rugby player. Mariam also proudly wears her scarf to compete. Do you wear a hijab in your sport? How have other people reacted to this? And how can we make other hijabi girls and women feel more comfortable to exercise and play sport? Share your story with Mariam and I.
Mariam can be found @mariam_farid on instagram, and you can view her new clothing brand @jama.qa. You can follow the RAN BY NATURE podcast on Instagram @ranbynature, or if you prefer, you can email me at hello@ranbynature.com.
