    Episode 100…Hadeel Ayoub and BrightSign

    Hadeel Ayoub and BrightSign…

One of the biggest problems with existing solutions for those with hearing and speech disabilities is the fact that they all assume that everyone is the same. They are wrong. With over 100 different formal sign languages being used in the world, and thousands more individual variations and sign systems, it simply isn’t good enough to support one or two languages and call it done. BrightSign allows you to teach it ANY sign language library that you can think of, even one that you have made up yourself.

Hadeel Ayoub, Experienced Lecturer, Researcher and Entrepreneur with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Skilled in Innovation, Creative Coding, Programming and Design Research. Strong professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) focused in Human Computer Interaction HCI and Gesture Recognition from Goldsmiths, University of London.

Hadeel Ayoub is the Founder and CTO of BrightSign and our guest on Episode 100 and final episode of the Invention Stories Podcast. To listen, please click on the button on the top left.  Thank you and please, tell a friend.

In Episode 99 we feature the advice shared by the guest of the Invention Stories Podcast. Since we began the Invention Stories Podcast we’ve either finished the interviews by asking “What advice would you give…or what is your invention advice?”

The Invention Stories Podcast was created with one goal in mind…To Help People Invent Smarter. So if you are an inventor, have an idea for an invention, or new to the podcast, we invite you to listen to this podcast. In addition to their answers, I share some of what I remember most about the interviews.

This episode is the third and final part in a three-part series and features advice from inventors working backwards from episodes 60 – 50. In episode 49…What Advice would you give an Inventor, we shared invention advice from episode 48-1. Click here to learn more.

    Episode 60…Tara Roskell…The Idea Medic and more…

When we first started working on  InventionStories.com and looking to share invention stories, I came across Ideas Uploaded (www.ideasuploaded.com) and was impressed.  Tara Roskell had been sharing posts and podcasts that were similar to ours and while some would find her to be a competitor to be treated as such, we didn’t.  We believe in promoting websites and podcasts that help people invent smarter and Ideas Uploaded is a helpful tool for inventors.  Click here for The Ideas Uploaded website and here for the Ideas Uploaded Facebook page.

Episode 59…Keith Lawrence and the “OUT Tool” Fish Mouth Spreader

Keith Lawrence went on a fishing trip to Canada with his father. He had bought a local coil-spring tool to hold open the mouth of a fish while removing the hook, but their fish-mouth spreader didn’t work very well. This would lead to the invention of the “OUT Tool” Fish Mouth Spreader.

Episode 58…Kedma Ough is the Innovation Director and Superhero

Kedma Ough, MBA is the Innovation Director at Mt Hood Community College Small Business Development Center in Oregon. Under this directive she supports the Inventor Resource Program which includes SBIR/STTR Federal Innovation Grants and working with inventors from idea to commercialization. She has supported inventors from product licensing through building product development firms.

In 2019, Kedma will have her book published “Target Funding” in collaboration with McGraw Hill. The book will focus on finding resources and funding for inventors, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.

She is also a proud fifth generation entrepreneur and her great-great grandfather peddled various products throughout Ireland.

It is for these reasons we thought Kedma would share a great interview.

Episode 74…Nate Lawrie and the Morph Collapsible Foam Roller

Foam rollers are bulky and annoying to carry around. Nate wanted something that I could take with him; whether it was to an away-game, the gym, or when he was traveling around the globe with his wife in the offseason. The idea for The Morph was born and Nate set out to create the worlds best foam roller. It is his goal to make The Morph the most relied on self-maintenance tool for athletes, fitness enthusiasts, and mobility seekers.

His first product, The Morph emphatically meets all three criteria – it’s a true foam roller (like any you’ve seen at the gym), but when you’re not using it, it takes up a fraction of the space Brilliant…Successful…Works Smart… There is so much more to Nate Lawrie than can be shared on a forty minute podcast, but it’s a great place to start. So we invite you to listen to our interview with Nate Lawrie, Inventor of the Morph Collapsible Foam Roller on Episode 74 of the Invention Stories Podcast…To listen, please click here.

Overcoming Dyslexia, a Horseback Fall, and 2 Tornados…Inventor Deborah Chester is our Guest Ep 98

Overcoming Dyslexia, a Horseback Fall, and 2 Tornados…Inventor Deborah Chester is our Guest Ep 98

Overcoming dyslexia, a horseback fall, and 2 tornados that left her penniless…Inventor Deborah Chester, self-made millionaire, author, and motivational speaker is our Guest on Episode 98 of the Invention Stories Podcast.

Deborah Chester is the inventor, founder, and CEO of RimPro-Tec, the award-winning wheel protection system with over 100 patents and trademarks worldwide, available in over 70 countries.

Born in Nottingham, England, young Deborah Chester struggled with academics, due to undiagnosed dyslexia . Her learning challenges were often misinterpreted as daydreaming (she was nicknamed “the dreamer”) and, frustrated, she left school at age 15 and started her first business, a series of clothing parties.

In August 2003, after a near-fatal horseback riding accident that nearly took her life, Deborah decided to make a change. She and her husband packed up all their belongings and moved halfway around the world to a small town on New Zealand’s North Island.

    2007

In 2007, Deborah had a hype-realistic dream that warned her of a series of tornados that would ravage her family’s seaside home three weeks later, effectively saving her life. The storms left the Chester family with nothing but each other, destroying all of their material possessions and forcing them to move in with friends.

This became a turning point in Deborah’s personal journey. She learned that she could survive absolutely anything, and that no setback was too dire as long as she had her family. She began to pay closer attention to her dreams and watch for the signs the universe was sending. Her husband Chris would have a similarly realistic dream where is saw Debrorah curb their cars wheels (even though they didn’t own a car at the time) in what would become the inspiration for the Rim-Pro Tec

    17-hour workdays

Deborah pushed through a decade of 17-hour workdays, intensive research, and a patent process so complicated and discouraging. In the face of staggering loss, personal and professional betrayal, and a patent process so grueling and discouraging that many a lesser man would have given up, she persevered. Through it all, her unwavering faith and inner wisdom were the key factors that guided her as she grew her idea into a worldwide brand.

    Today…

Deborah is a self-made millionaire, author, and motivational speaker, but she has never forgotten the shock of finding herself broke and homeless at the age of 33. She and her family take regular trips to Fiji, helping the local residents there with medical expenses and basic living essentials. She lives in Auckland, New Zealand with her husband Chris, where they working to set up a foundation to support parents and children cope with trauma.

Deborah’s three adult children have inherited her uncompromising work ethic and entrepreneurial drive, each building their own ventures while working in the family businesses (which makes it easy to spend quality time together). She is thrilled to be able to share her story and hopes it will inspire women around the world to trust in themselves and follow their dreams.

    Journey/Experience

    (from Linked profile)

I’m writing a book about my Journey my life story: Motivational and Inspiration based on my life experience “Journey” overcoming adversity while succeeding with the power to persist.

How to attract more of what you want from the universe, I talk about my story of becoming homeless with my family after loosing everything when two tornado struck.

    The Invention Stories Spotlight

We featured Bret Newman to share his invention journey in real time on the Invention Stories Spotlight. We were caught up in this emotional invention journey of Lori Barzvi and decided to share this interview uninterrupted. But we first intoduced our audience to Bret Newman and his Soundverter Turboscoops on Episode 67 of the Invention Stories Podcast.

The goal of the Invention Stories Podcast and InventionStories.com is to Help People Invent Smarter. Our focus is on one inventor to see if we could help him. Bret was chosen because the Soundverter Turboscoops are simple, smart, inexpensive, and work.

    Simple…

The Soundverter Turboscoops are a single moulded piece of plastic that is made in the USA. No parts to fail or get broken in transition and being manufactured in Ohio…no importing problems with better oversight.

    Smart-

The Soundverter Turboscoops are a solution to a problem most flat screen owners have…poor audio quality. Most flat screens have their speakers pointing downward…look at yours and you’ll see what I mean. The Soundverter Turboscoops change the direction of the sound.

    Inexpensive-

I’m going further than saying affordable, the Soundverter Turboscoops cost less than $30. How many problems do you know that can be solved under $40.

    They Work-

My father in law watches his tv with the sound on full blast and the distortion drove me nuts since I am an audiophille. We attached the Soundverter Turboscoops and he listens to it at a lower level. It’s still loud but clear.

So if you have a recommendation or suggestion on how to help Bret Newman become more successful…please email us at inventionstoriespodcast@gmail.com
