Yeah, I know there was a brand new episode of this here podcast just the other day, but since it had been a while I thought I probably owed you something a little extra. And I’ve been listening to Gojira loads recently – like, loads, basically all the time – and so I thought, ‘why not share with the listers of The James McMahon Music Podcast that interview you did with Joe Duplantier from Gojira last year’. Which is one of my better thoughts, I’ll be honest with you.
And so here it is. It was originally published on The Spoook Podcast - which may or may not be returning, I still don’t know really - it wasn’t ended to be a podcast at all but just a chat for a feature I was writing for The Face about Godzilla. Forgive audio that is slightly scratcher than you might be used to. And yet I thought it was an inspiring chat I had with Joe, on the eve of the release of the band's 7th record Fortitude, that I thought you’d enjoy. Bon soir!
