Stevies Pod Take

I’m a longtime Redskins fan and I’ve been listening to Kevin Sheehan from the UK for over 10 years now, so get ready because here’s Stevies Pod Take. Some things I like, some things I don’t like and a few other observations.

On the list of things I like -
Kevin’s game and situational analysis is superb. He sees through the smokescreen and gets to the heart of the story. His weekly game take is accurate and detailed. His interviews and variety of guests, both football and non football people is very good. Cooley is the best followed by Doc Walker. He looks at the whole organisation and the bigger picture, not just the games on the field.

Some of the things I don’t like -
Kevin can take a 10 minute topic and talk about it for hours often repeating the same information/opinion again and again. He puts far too much emphasis on information and opinions from other Reporters rather than football players and coaches who really know what they’re talking about eg. Did Heinicke really have to convince Ron to play Sam in the Dallas game ? Have you actually heard that from one or more of those 3 people or have you just repeated it so many times you now believe it ? Provinence is essential. Every single guest is one of Kevin’s favourite guests. Kevin shamelessly promotes gambling, drinking and eating unhealthy food (birthday cake flavoured cereal!) and sank to an all time low when telling people to get a VPN to defraud the NBA of its subscription fees. I like Thom, but cut out the chatter about his health problems and holidays. We don’t need that. Lastly and mostly thank god that Dan is gone because I had to switch off when you talk about him. You made your feelings abundantly clear, you’re probably right but I don’t tune in to listen to hate and negativity. It reflects badly on you as an individual.

Other observation -
You already know this, but you’ve got to get Cooley back to doing his full graded Film Reviews. They were the best thing I have ever heard in any Podcast on any subject, and I listen to a lot of Podcasts. I don’t care if you have to nail his feet to the floor, they were something special and need to come back.

In summary, I don’t want it, I don’t need it, but I’m gonna get it anyway, because I love the Kevin Sheehan show.

My Favorite DC Sports Pod

I listen everyday from the UK. Living over here makes it difficult to keep up with the local DC sports, but listening to Sheehan makes me feel like I’m right back home. Love when Cooley and Thom are on as well. I especially love the banter between Kevin and Thom, it’s always entertaining. Thanks and please keep it up! - Ben (Cambridge, UK via Arlington, VA)

Commanders Chat

Love the show. Kevin and crew keep me up to date with all the ‘Skins news in the U.K. A cauldron of opinions and arguments that makes great listening on my commutes. The best place for Commanders updates and information, but definitely the worst place in the universe for anything ‘soccer’ or World Cup related. 😀
