My Mother Tried to Commit Suicide in Front of Me - This is How I Repaid Her - Interview with Leila Hormozi - Episode 59
I thought there wasn’t another me out there. But it seems that there is. This woman is undoubtedly my soul sister. Leila Hormozi is a phenomenally successful woman. She started a company called Gym Launch and now owns three 8-figure businesses! Not bad for somebody whose mother tried to commit suicide in front of her when Leila was still a teenager. But instead of being broken by her tumultuous upbringing, Leila used it to become strong. She pushed past the guys at the gym to build her body, and studied hard to develop her mind. The results speak for themselves. It also turns out that both of us have a liking for telling it like it is, so let’s get to it.
How Learning Projection Helped Me to Build a World Class Team - Episode 58
You know me by now. What the podcast is about is not only what the podcast is about - it’s always about something more. When I first learned about the psychology of “projection” it slapped me in the face like a 150mph tennis serve from Roger Federer. The idea intrigued me so much that I had to dive in deep. And I’m glad I did, because since then it has transformed the way I look at other people. Whether it’s hiring new members of a team, or just meeting new people with whom you’re thinking of starting a new relationship, this insight into the human psyche pays dividends in so many ways. On today’s show I’m going to tell you about the times in my life where projection has played a pivotal role in crucial decisions I’ve had to make about people.
How to Stay Motivated During More Lockdowns - Episode 57
Here we go again. Gyms are closing, if they ever reopened in the first place, pubs have called last orders, and there’s not a manicure to be had for love nor money. So who better to keep us all motivated to stay on track with our goals - whether its relationships, money, or fitness - than the king of mindset, my good friend Mr Brian Keane? When the two of us get together we’re always sure to unearth a golden nugget or two to keep you pumped. Today’s 18-carat highlights include: establishing the habits that will lead to a disciplined mindset; and how avoiding being aimless will propel you to your ultimate success.
How My Childhood Trauma Made Me The Success I Am Today - Episode 56
At an early age, my sister and I were sent away to boarding school. We hated it. It was soulless and cruel. While there I would sleep in the bunk bed above my sister’s, and hearing her sobbing at night was too much; so I would crawl into her bed and put my arms around her, to comfort her. I should warn you that reliving that experience in this week’s episode brought me to tears yet again. But although I didn’t know it at the time, I was beginning to learn about responsibility, and how you can never shirk it, unless you want to spend your life being unhappy. Learn how I accepted my own sense of responsibility and how you can too.
How to Build a Home Gym on a Very Limited Budget - Episode 55
They’re still closing gyms faster than an Irish pub that’s run out of Guinness. Ugh! But let’s look on the bright side. I know you’ve been thinking about it, so maybe now’s the time to do it! Build that home gym. Before you collapse from a touch of the vapours, we’re not talking about an all-singing, all-dancing, fancy-schmancy machine-fest. Building muscles is simple. And your home gym equipment should reflect that. You’re going to be pumped when you find out how easy it is.
