I'm Mike Russell, co founder of UK Podcasters community and New Media Europe conference. I was thrilled to host a 36 hour non-stop podcast on 21st & 22nd April 2016. I didn't sleep for the full 36 hour marathon and broke the world record for the longest ever continuous podcast. I was thrilled to be joined by thousands who watched, listened and chatted during the live event. Together we made history in enhancing awareness of all of the amazing independent podcasters out there. Podcasting in the UK and in the world is a huge growing medium that should no longer be ignored. There are many amazing independent podcasters who influence lives and businesses. Those hard working individuals are experts in their niches and provide incredible learning platforms for general public.

The idea of this non-stop podcast is to bring the spotlight on to independent content creators who deserve to get credit for the work they do. Join us in the UK Podcasters community and meet fellow podcasters in person at New Media Europe.

Really informative

I was able to hear a lot of this as it happened live. Kudos to Mike for hosting Longest Podcast in the world. Quite a feat, and it was a great feeling to be plugged into an entire community of passionate people.

This podcast enables you listen back to some of the really smart contributors who share some really useful information, enabling you to further improve your own knowledge base. #ListenAndLearn

Long podcast - Lots of wisdom

First a disclosure: I was kindly invited to participate in this event by Mike and Isabel Russell. Thank you!

A commendable effort on the two celebrity and visionary hosts of New Media Europe / UK Podcasters and all those involved. I got the easy job of talking about what I enjoy talking about - as did every guest on this series.

So, WHY should you care and WHAT to expect?

This podcast is simply full of podcasting wisdom, debate and philosophy. If you’re a podcaster, particularly if you are an aspiring UK podcaster, you won’t just find short-term tactics that will enable you to tweak the shape and performance of your podcast; you’ll stumble upon deep insights which will help you to re-shape the overall strategy and approach of your podcasting aims which will help you to grow your audience efficiently and effectively without wasting your time on the stuff that (you think matters but) doesn’t matter. All for free.

As a member of the audience, as well as guest, this was a time investment very well spent. I got to hear insights from some of my own favourite guests, friends in the field, and podcasters offering cutting-edge experience and insights right up-to-date: as things stand in 2016 for a UK podcaster today.

I’m highly confident the audio version of this excellent event, one that deserves to be celebrated and recognised by podcasters globally, will offer as much value, if not more, than the live event (because you can replay this information as many times as you like and listen to it when you like) - pick and choose as you please with or without triple espressos.

Happy listening and, once again, well done Mike, Isabel and all involved - particularly in the early hours!
