The Mandalorian Season 2 Finale Predictions‪!‬ Tatooine Sons: A Pop Culture Podcast

    • Entertainment News

The Season 2 finale of The Mandalorian is coming TOMORROW! After a wild ride across the galaxy, there are many questions still lingering: will Mando reject the Creed? How’s he going to get on Moff Gideon’s ship? Is there a Jedi coming to the rescue? Will we see Thrawn? And of course, what’s going to happen to Baby Yoda (Grogu)?

We’re going to do our best to answer these questions and more, right after we recap Chapter 15. And we’re joined by a very special guest this week (it's Samuel the Hutt's new girlfriend!)

It's TIME for Tatooine Sons!

HOT TAKES
Our regular show’s HOT TAKES were derailed by the crazy Star Wars announcements that happened last week. That means we haven’t had the chance to talk about Chapter 15: The Believer. Cara is breaking out a prisoner. Mayfeld poses a theological question. And Mando rejects The Way. That’s all up next on Hot Takes!

Chapter 15 centers around Mando’s need to find out where Moff Gideon’s Imperial Cruiser is, so they can get busy rescuing Baby Yoda (Grogu). We learned at the close of Chapter 14, that Mando and Cara Dune are going to bust Mayfeld out of a New Republic Prison to make this happen. Were you a little worried about those first moments when Mando and Mayfeld are reunited?

When Mando, Boba, Fennec and Mayfeld get to Morak, there’s a fun exchange between the crew that takes place when they discover that the best way to get into the base with the terminal Mayfeld needs to access is to hijack an Imperial Juggernaut transporting rydonium. It’s a two man job, but not everyone is capable of passing through the required ISB scans. There’s a lot of foreshadowing of what will happen at the end of the episode.

Mayfeld and Mando have a really heavy conversation while on the Juggernaut. Mayfeld calls Mando’s devotion to “The Way” when he asks Mando if he can’t remove his helmet, or if he can’t show his face.

We’re going to talk more about the mask/face situation in a moment, but let's look at the drink share between Mando and Mayfeld, and Valin Hess - the Imperial officer who Mayfeld served under during Operation: Cinder. For those who may not know what that is, take a second to explain it.

It was hinted at throughout the entire episode - Mando is faced with a critical choice: follow “The Way” and fail in his mission to discover where Baby Yoda (Grogu) is, or violate his creed and show his face. What were you thinking when Mando took his bucket off?
