17 episodes

After reviewing Film, Television and Theatre for a number of years, I wanted to continue my love for this ever-growing industry and continue my passion for speaking to fellow creatives.
Each week I invite guests on from different creative courses across The University of Salford. It will start with me talking to fellow students on my current course which is MA Drama Production for Film, TV and Digital Media. The goal of this show is to really get to know about other creatives including facts about why they chose their course and where their creative aspirations lie.
I will be doing a weekly review segment where I critically analyse what new films or TV shows I have watched. There will be film discussion topics featured throughout too.
The show is getting to know a handful of people’s stories within the creative industry, as well as more people being able to learn more about myself at the same time.

Episode 16 - Anti Heroine Special

Episode 16 - Anti Heroine Special

On this special podcast I invite writer Pip Carew and director Emily Bunch who are looking to get their one woman show Anti Heroine to the Edinburgh Fringe.

Over a few nights, a spunky but directionless young woman navigates the perils of online dating, her fractured relationship with her mother and trying to have self-respect with no income. At least she's not in love with… Oh, wait.

    During our chat we discuss:
How did the idea of Anti Heroine come around.
Lessons from the MA Drama Production course, they have applied to Anti Heroine.
Fundraising events they have hosted so far.
    The lead actor Lottie Burgess
Their crowdfunding and social media pages for Anti Heroine.

Let's get Anti Heroine to the Fringe.

Episode 15 - It's Fine and Oscars Reactions

Episode 15 - It's Fine and Oscars Reactions

I invited first timer Maham and returning guest Adam back to the show to talk about the Oscars Ceremony, which then turned into an episode where we we ended up covering a lot of what we deemed to be okay films.

We discuss the current state of Marvel, elaborating on particularly interesting thoughts from Maham who thoughts Morbius was alright. We discuss which film we would deem better between Morbius and Madame Web. We somehow ended up covering a foray of releases/

    New Releases Covered Include:
    Madame Web
    Ricky Stanicky
    Dune: Part 2

Stay tuned, as at the end of the episode we elaborate on some of our most anticipated releases of 2024.

Episode 14 - On The Line Interview with Victoria Lucie

Episode 14 - On The Line Interview with Victoria Lucie

In the second interview for On The Line, I speak to leading actress Victoria Lucie who plays Agnes.

    During the interview, we discuss:

Being cast as Miss Casswell in The Mousetrap (2019-2020).
Being the only character on screen in On The Line.
The challenges of the 10 minute Dolly Zoom.
Working with director Oliver Pearn, on this feature debut.

A massive thank you to Victoria Lucie for this interview and stick around for a cheeky exclusive at the end.

Episode 13 - BAFTAs Reactions & All of Us Strangers Discussion

Episode 13 - BAFTAs Reactions & All of Us Strangers Discussion

On this episode I am joined by first timer to the show Berk and returning guest Kadambari, as we discuss the winners of the 77th British Academy Film Awards.

Stick around for our incredible discussion on All of Us Strangers, a film that has resonated with the three of us in different ways.

We also have a conversation about how Trimester 2 is going and discuss the projects we are currently working on.

We all did wonder why Andrew Scott was not nominated at the BAFTAs and I was still recovering from the shambolic misfire that was Madame Web.

Episode 12 - On The Line Interview with Director Oliver Pearn

Episode 12 - On The Line Interview with Director Oliver Pearn

On this weeks podcast, I speak to Oliver Pearn whose directorial debut On The Line is now available to purchase or rent on all streaming platforms.

During the chat we discuss aspects including:

Why Oliver wanted to start off with a feature immediately, rather than a short.
The decision on the 74-minute running time.
    The switchboard room.
    Victoria Lucie's powerhouse performance.

Stick around for my review of On The Line too, which is after the interview.

Episode 11 - Oscar Nomination Reactions and Jonathan Glazer's Work

Episode 11 - Oscar Nomination Reactions and Jonathan Glazer's Work

On this episode, myself and Joshua Besso react to the recent Academy Awards Nominations where we both agree and disagree on certain films being nominated.

We also decided to crash-test a podcast idea of ours, where we want to discuss all A24 films in chronological order. To offer a trial run of this segment, we discussed the A24 films Under The Skin and The Zone of Interest, to celebrate Jonathan Glazer's nominations for The Zone of Interest.
