Quick Wins with your Investments
Many of us have amassed investments over the years. They might be old workplace pensions, or funds we chose because we saw a nice advert in the Sunday papers. But are these disparate pots of money really serving us as we build wealth for our future? Is there anything we can do to optimise them?
Quick Wins Before Retirement
It's fair to say that retiring is a big deal for lots of reasons, but not least because there can be a lot to sort out. Today we want to look at the practical elements of preparing for retirement and also the less tangible stuff, like working out what you're actually going to do with your time!
Quick Wins With Your Budget
Good budget control is the cornerstone of building wealth. If you always spend every penny that comes in, you'll never have anything left to save and invest for the future.
Say like that, and it sounds obvious - and it IS! But we all know that this is harder to do than it is to say. So let's get into some quick wins to make the process as painless as possible.
Quick Wins With Your Workplace Pension
Today Pete and Roger are going to be talking about how you can make some quick wins with your workplace pension, which is a hugely neglected area of most people's financial planning, but also super-important.
Quick Wins with Platforms, Wrappers and Investments
There's a real lack of understanding about the roles of platforms, accounts and investments in your wealth-building. Our goal today is to make sure you know what all these moving parts do, and how best to optimise them for your future success.
You Don't Need An Adviser
Time to round off Season 20 of the Meaningful Money Podcast and this time, my guest is me! As I can’t really interview myself, I’ve called in my best mate Roger Weeks to guide the episode. My One Big Thing - the title of this season - is that most of us don’t need to instruct an adviser to make serious headway with our finances.
The most important podcast I didn’t know I needed
I have spent the past 2 years attempting to educate myself on personal finance, started investing, made lots of mistakes and learned a lot of lessons. It was only at about 18 months in that I stumbled upon Pete’s podcast and started working through the back catalog. His simple, concise but impactful way of delivering information makes the whole subject seem less daunting, and actually makes me excited about investing for the long term (after a year spent dabbling with the idea of short term trading). Over 300+ episodes, he does drive the same points home over and over again because the subject really needn’t be that complicated BUT the recent addition of Roger to the podcast has been a perfectly timed introduction of a new perspective to those topics and with different anecdotes & experiences. I recommend this podcast to everyone looking to change their life when it comes to planning their future and how your finances will affect that - and then I bought the Meaningful Money handbook and lend it to as many people as possible! Thank you Pete - I’ve spent so much time with you talking to me on my commute now that I feel like you’re a familiar uncle figure keeping me on the right path 😂…
To be Honest
Great show, I have been listening to Meaningful Money Podcast for about 4 years and have been through the majority of the back catalogue as well. It is no exaggeration to say this podcast has helped me to transform my financial well-being and helped me to make informed and intentional decisions. Really enjoying Roger’s honesty 😀and he has helped the show go up another level. Well worth listening to.
To be honest, this is the best personal finance pod there is! Being self employed I found it quite confusing when I wanted to set up a pension. After listening to the pod I now have a good understanding of how it all works, and enjoy seeing my pot grow. Many thanks.
