Jonin Monkey ,

The MCU of audio drama

I know the title of this review may sound silly, but it is the best way to sum this series up in one sentence.

The series is collection of stories that start with a zombie-esque apocalypse set in post-civil war America, before branching out into other tales and genres including fantasy, treasure-hunting, political drama, mech combat, and many more (whilst still somehow maintaining a strong connection so you can enjoy them separately or together)

Combine this with terrific character writing and political/philosophical exploration of the themes of its worlds and genres (along with audio editing that only gets better with each instalment), and you have a fantastic podcast that I urge you to try. You will not regret it.

Great stuff!

Currently most of the way through “Tiger’s Eye” and absolutely loving it. I’d never listened to an audiobook with a full cast and music before so it took some getting used to, but the attention to detail here adds so much to the sense of immersion, even if it requires you to pay more attention (no listening to this whilst working!).

I will write another more in-depth review when I’ve finished the series :-)

A firm recommendation for New Century

Varied and flexible in genre and tone, but always filled with relatable characters that are consistently enjoyable, New Century is an accessible and well-written fictional series with commendable themes of the benefits of communication and unity. The multiverse has rapidly become one of the most interesting fictional universes I've seen in recent years.
