Women make up half of the world's population, and yet history books often consign them to the sidelines. They are dismissed as merely the wives of powerful men; babymakers and nothing more. Yet women have been the driving force behind history for millennia, from female Pharoahs, warrior princesses and pirates, to the revolutionaries who sought to topple the male-dominated political systems of their day. From host of the popular 'Queens of England Podcast', The Other Half tells the forgotten and ignored stories of the most powerful and influential women in history.

I VERY highly recommend!
I love this podcast SOOO MUCH!!!! Thank you so much for uploading it. I am still happily listening to season 1, but shrieked VERY loudly when I saw the new episode on Tamar! James I think I’m in love with your voice, and you allow me to both relax and learn at the same time. (There you go, here is your ego boost from me!) I have very much enjoyed the first series because I’m not as knowledgeable on Roman history. I am a real nerd at the Middle Ages, Tudors and Stuarts (I loved the Queens of England Podcast!). You may have made Roman History one of my favourite periods in history. Thank you so much!
James makes the Other Half fun, well-researched and easy-to-understand. I really recommend it. I have downloaded every episode!!!
The very best
I loved Queens of England podcast, but I also really loved the first 2 series here too. Queen Victoria’s daughters and granddaughters are completely fascinating!
James’ delivery and style is gentle and addictive!
Highly recommended.
