Emma Conway (brummymummyof2) grew up up in 90’s Birmingham. Dreaming of Take That, with a perm gone wrong and 10p in her purse in case she needed to call home in an emergency. 30 years later her children are approaching becoming teens and it got her reflecting fondly those awkward years.
On The Phonebox Podcast each week a guest will call Emma from their local phonebox and chat about their own teenage years. Confessing weird crushes, favourite bands and fashion faux pas. Including the highs, the lows, the heartbreak, the laughs and that all important first snog. Also how exactly did those tricky years shape who they became today? Loved it! Fun and easy!
I loved this! I was born in 82 and so this really resonated with me, everything they spoke about I was like ‘yessss’ loved the speedo chat and the fact that Emma was so incredulous - so funny!! Liked the narrow focus as it does what it says on the tin was a real light relief from everything else these days that’s feels very heavy and very mental health focussed, this was just a bit of fun! Thank you Emma xx

Em-this was hilarious! Batman!?! It will get better and better as you go on! And as for those people trying to subtly imply that the podcast is racist because there is ‘no diversity’ shut up! Diversity includes women and dialect so she’s fine!
