Zachary Levi is the world’s silliest superhero on the latest Popcorn Muncher Podcast, hosted by Patrick Wilson, with Luke Stevenson and Tom Beasley – editor of The Popcorn Muncher.

It’s a week of very varied genres, led by the DCEU’s zaniest outing yet, as Zachary Levi steps into a bonkers red suit for Shazam! – which is essentially Big with superpowers. There’s also the new take on Stephen King’s classic horror tale Pet Sematary and Jacques Audiard‘s excellent western The Sisters Brothers, starring Joaquin Phoenix and John C Reilly.

In the news, Disney dominates as always. We chat about the new trailer for the live-action remake of The Lion King, as well as the first teaser for the new Star Wars movie, which we now know will be subtitled The Rise of Skywalker. Finally, in the quiz, Luke delivers one of his bidding games.

    "Chicken Kiev Schreiber"

You’ll believe an elephant can fly on the latest Popcorn Muncher Podcast, hosted by Patrick Wilson, with Luke Stevenson and Tom Beasley – editor of The Popcorn Muncher.

This week’s biggest release is Tim Burton’s live-action take on Dumbo for Disney, in which a cast of colourful Burton characters join the titular flying elephant. We also review the Frank Sidebottom documentary Being Frank: The Chris Sievey Story and the controversial black metal biopic Lords of Chaos, which is based on a horrifying true story.

In the news, we talk about big trailers for both Avengers: Endgame and the upcoming Joker, in which Joaquin Phoenix will play the most iconic villain in the DC back catalogue, without Batman to square off against. We also chat about the news that Mark Hamill will be voicing the killer doll in the new Chucky. Finally, in the quiz, Patrick leads us through a series of connecting questions.

"I love Maisie Williams's Big Dick Energy"

Jordan Peele is scaring us stupid all over again on the latest Popcorn Muncher Podcast, hosted by Patrick Wilson, with Luke Stevenson and Tom Beasley – editor of The Popcorn Muncher.

This week’s big review is obviously Peele’s new nightmare fuel – doppelganger horror Us, in which Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke have to fight off malevolent doubles of them and their family. We also find time to chat about the Nureyev biopic The White Crow, directed by Ralph Fiennes, and the romantic teen weepie Five Feet Apart, which focuses on cystic fibrosis patients who bond in hospital.

In the news, we chat about the latest action-packed trailer for John Wick 3, reveal Angelina Jolie‘s involvement in the MCU and also discuss Maisie Williams‘s very forthright (and sweary) comments about what exactly is going on with The New Mutants. Finally, in the quiz, Tom asks two sets of questions based on dance movies and big screen doppelgangers.

"Turns out I know everything about Shark Tale"

Marvel are dominant, as always it seems, on the latest podcast, hosted by Patrick Wilson, with Luke Stevenson and Tom Beasley – editor of The Popcorn Muncher.

We also find time to mention the Swedish fantasy romance Border, which features the weirdest cinematic sex scene of the year so far.

In the news, it’s all Disney, all the time.
