They also announce the book that they have chosen for the Readers Summer Read 2018. You’ll have to listen in to find out what they have picked.

What Books Would You Like to Write or See Written () Thanks to a brilliant question (or set of questions) from one of our listeners Zoe, Simon and Thomas has a chat about what books they would like to write or would like to see written. Is there a story they feel could have more legs? Is there a budding author hosting this show? Where does fan fiction come into all this? What book that they have yet to encounter would they love to be written they just haven’t found yet? They ponder all this and more.

The Readers Retreat () The Readers are meeting THIS September.

Simon and Thomas will be in San Francisco on Saturday, September 22nd and Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 and we want to hang out with our listeners. We are planning a weekend of bookish fun in the City by the Bay and hope some of you can join us. We plan on having a few opportunities to get together, but are keeping things decidedly informal. Some of the things we are thinking of: A book store crawl, a Tales of the City tour, some sort of food/drink related get together, and recording at least two episodes of The Readers with audience participation.

In order for this to be meaningful we need to keep the group size down to about 50 participants. Since we don't plan on having a Booktopia- or Book Riot-level of organization and polish, we need to keep the size manageable. So... the fine print...if you are interested in going let us know via email at the address below by May 15, 2018. If we get more than 50 people who plan on coming we will do a random draw and confirm with you by May 20th. (Unless you were planning on going to SF that weekend anyway, you should probably hold off getting your airplane ticket until you get a confirmation.)

Reading Improperly () Simon and Thomas discuss improper subjects in fiction in this episode of the podcast. They take three subjects you shouldn’t talk about on a first date, or even really in certain publics situations and see how they feel about them in books. Those subjects are sex, religion and politics... They would love your thoughts.

Eilidhbelle ,

Love 😍

Have read so many brilliant books on the back of this podcast, would definitely recommend.

A Podcast for all Book Nerds!

A lovely conversational podcast about books, reading and associated issues. The format is very much a chat between hosts Simon and Thomas, so expect it to change each episode rather than stick to a strict script or sequence. But the passion for books comes across and there's always oodles of recommendations - one of my very favourite podcasts.

Enjoyed your conversations and discussions! Thank you,
