I was 16 when Robert Kennady died , i had a real interest in US politics and was particularly effected by his death , for exactly the reason that the both of you articulated so well . He was cool ,complicated , not in any way a perfect man or a hero in a white hat . He was very late 60s and seemed to me to have a capacity for growth denied other politicians , like a band progressing to more and more complex and memorable music with each new album. I think that capacity might have taken him to the Presidency but there was also always the terrible prospect of a bullet waiting somewhere for him . The series about the 60s in the USA was great , can you imagine anyone quoting from the Greeks now , if a politician mentioned Homer people would assume he was talking about the Simpsons . They were big figures JFK , Johnson , King , RFK , Nixon and Reagan, and had an epic quality totally lacking in their current successors. Many thanks for another great series . Best wishes , Nick .

Just wanted to say what a beautiful and moving episode this was. Dominic’s storytelling and eye for detail combine with Tom’s perspective of religious themes and traditions perfectly. I think this is their best series yet.
Excellent as ever thank you for bringing 1968 in to context for me

I remember the assassination of Robert Kennedy like it was yesterday. We were living in Germany, dad worked for the MOD and he was very much a mans man’ very rarely cried. We were driving on the autobahn, when suddenly dad stopped the car and there were tears in his eyes when the news broke. My parents brought into the myth of Camelot and the Kennedys and this series bought everything into context, coupled with your episodes on Watergate. Been with you since episode one. Trudi
Hands down the best podcast

Fascinating, masterly delivered and researched pure full fat nuggets of history. Tom and Dom are the Lennon-MacCartney of history, if not all, podcasts. Continuing doing what you love and creating this historical food, and please don’t fall out like John and Paul did.
