    In today’s episode, we’re going to talk about being in a romantic relationship with someone who has Relationship OCD. This episode is specifically for significant others/ partners of people who struggle with relationship OCD.

    As a quick recap, Relationship OCD, also known as ROCD, is a subset of OCD in which sufferers are consumed with doubts about their relationship or their partner. Their mind continuously questions things like their love for their partner, their attraction to their partner, their compatibility with their partner, or their partner’s love for them.

    So in this episode, I will be discussing practical ideas and guidance for creating a successful relationship with someone who is dealing with Relationship OCD. I also share specific things you can do in order to support your partner on this journey, while taking care of yourself as well.

    In today’s episode, we're going to begin a new series on OCD & Relationships.

    Relationship OCD, also known as Relationship Substantiation or ROCD, is a subset of OCD in which sufferers are consumed with doubts about their relationship or their partner. Their mind continuously questions things like their love for their partner, their attraction to their partner, their compatibility with their partner, or their partner’s love for them.

    And while having doubts or concerns about your relationship and partner is totally normal.. For people with R-OCD, these thoughts can completely take over their lives and cause a lot of damage to their relationships.

    So in this first episode, I am going to share some practical ideas for creating a successful romantic relationship in spite of OCD.

    Hello,

    Today we are starting a new series on Dating & OCD.

    In this episode, I discuss some high-level tips for dating and having a successful romantic relationship while living with OCD & Anxiety.

    It’s important to remember that if you struggle with OCD & Anxiety you don’t have to let it limit your life. Especially, when it comes to experiencing many of life’s amazing gifts like love and family.

    Sure, it might take a little more work in certain areas from both partners, but people with OCD & Anxiety can absolutely enjoy healthy and successful relationships.

    In this episode, I am going to discuss dating from both the perspective of having OCD and the perspective of having a partner who has OCD.

    My hope is that this will help couples begin to navigate some of the common issues they may be facing if OCD is a third wheel in their relationship.

    Ep. 50: How does “Pure O” develop?

    Purely obsessional OCD, often called ‘Pure O,’ is a form of OCD in which a person experiences primarily intrusive or unwanted thoughts without performing outward compulsions or rituals.

    For a long time, Pure O has been seen as a type of OCD that has been more difficult to treat than others. However, in my experience, people with Pure O almost always engage in compulsions, they are usually just less noticeable to others, especially if you don’t know what to look for. Most compulsions are unseen compulsions, such as mental rituals like mental checking, rumination, or other mental distraction techniques.

    People with Pure O will also engage in different, often subtle, physical compulsions, such as avoidance, checking, and reassurance seeking.

    So in this episode, I discuss how ‘Pure O OCD’ develops, and I also offer some examples of different compulsions that people engage in.
