    Ego States

Carl Jung once said "Those who look outside dream, those who look inside awaken." And if you've ever seen an analytical Psychotherapist you'll know what he meant.
One way of learning what makes us tick is through a concept called Ego States.

    Abuse Re-enactment

    Abuse Re-enactment

In short, re-enactment in response to trauma means repeating past events as a way of trying to resolve them. But until we are made aware of it we often compulsively and unconsciously make things worse for ourselves.

    Avoidance & Anxiety

People often think that avoidance is all about procrastination, avoiding the pain of being thought of as having done a bad job by not doing the job in the first place. And although that is avoidance it can also extend into many areas of your life.

    Rubbish In, Rubbish Out

    Rubbish In, Rubbish Out

In many ways what you put into yourself has a huge bearing on what you're able to put out.
Today's episode has more metaphors and stories than The Bible, a Roald Dahl novel and an episode of Pingu, I'm almost sure.

Much needed !

I love how Richard Nicholls talks about topics that a lot of the time I was really confused about and embarrassed to talk about. Most episodes usually provide opportunities for me to reflect on and discuss. Richard has a kind voice and he has a sweet sense of humour too. I also joined a Patreon listener and the community is all about helping and solidarity. I love it. I always look forward to Mondays because he posts extra episodes for Patreon supporters. He is a great humanist psychotherapist.
