191 episodes

Remember those thrilling days of yesteryear, when D&D came in a single box? When rules were there to be guided by the Dungeon master, not in control of him? Where extrapolation was king and fun was the major goal of any adventure?
Those days have returned! As with the very title of the podcast, one can
imagine dangerous dungeons, Wiley Non-Player Characters, and monsters that
might just be able to kill your character regardless of your level? Save or
Die podcast intends to cover them all, from the first box set of 1974 to the
last of the 1990s box sets. If its Dungeons & Dragons and came in a box,
we’ll talk about it.
Our fearless Dungeon Masters will regale listeners with tales of past events and future possibilities. Magic, Monsters, and Mayhems will abound as we delve into the ideas of light rules and heavy
role-playing!

Fantastic Old School podcast

Simply the best OSR podcast available. The crew are all intelligent and articulate. The content is first rate and the guests all add to the topic of the particular podcast. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Retro Gaming Reviews and more!

UPDATED REVIEW: I've come back to this because for a while I thought these guys would run out of things to talk about. Well, not so! The OSR keeps on going and the chat is fresh. The format remains excellent. The staff take a relaxed but structured look at old school dungeons and dragons gaming, discussing their own gaming experiences and talking about aspects of the game. Past episodes have also included interviews with game designers and staff from the 'Classic D&D' era. They also take time to review gaming products old and new. The chemistry between the hosts seems genuine and the podcast has been consistently good for the 80 or so episodes to date. Keep on keeping up the good work! Bruce (aka NotSoNinja)

Yummy Old School Goodness

Save or Die takes you back to the days when death lurked around every dungeon corner, waiting to pounce like a lurky, pouncy thing. The presenters have a superb knowledge of classic Dungeons and Dragons and a wonderful sense of humour. Every episode is filled to the cauldron brim with ideas for your campaign. Don't worry if you only play versions like fourth edition (excuse me, the edition that shall not be named) or Pathfinder, as they talk about topics that can be applicable to all editions.

So do yourself a favour, curious podcast connoisseur, and listen to Save or Die. I can pretty much guarantee you'll be hooked from the first episode.
