I love the situations he gets into! :D

First, I really enjoyed your 'Primroses' story - it certainly deserved to win an international award!

Seamus is on a different level, obviously, but equally enjoyable. He is a very believable and very 'Irish' character and I love the situations he gets into - and the ingenious way he often manages to get out of them again!

I see from your website that there are now 24 'The Seanachie' stories in print, so I'm looking forward to hearing many more on this podcast. Keep up the great work!

Seamus - the lovable rogue, from Ardnakil!

It's really great to see these Seamus stories now available in audio format as a podcast. 'Ireland's Own' magazine, (in Wexford, Ireland), are about to publish the 20th story in the Old Seamus series and, I believe, a book is a definite possibility in the near future.

The first story in this podcast series is NOT, in fact, about Old Seamus, but is the 2005 Galway Cuirt Award winner, 'Primroses' - highly praised by Nigerian judge, Helon Habila - and read by actress, Kate O'Toole, (daughter of the famous, Sir Peter O'Toole), at the award ceremony. A story about age, lost chances, and the risk today of an old man befriending a child.

The Old Seamus series starts with, 'Tale of a Teacup', a humorous account of love and courtship - with a bit of helpful interference from Seamus, as usual. The course of true love indeed does not run smooth - and was the prize worth it, eh? The Seamus stories are set in the beautiful landscape of Donegal, in the fictional village of Ardnakil - with a set of characters whose antics will make anyone laugh, (and sometimes cry!) - and with a moral to each one.

Highly recommended!
