Starting A Business From Home 2021
There are so many reasons why starting your own business from home is the ultimate path to freedom. But you have to consider some things to avoid starting something that consumes you and takes AWAY your freedom!
I’m going to share with you my step by step guide to starting your own business from home AND the traps to watch out for!
You want your own business, you want the flexibility of being able to work from home or anywhere but you have no idea where to start or if it is crazy to even consider it! It really doesn’t need to be that scary, you just need to know the action steps to take. So let’s go through them…
First of all you need to know what your business will offer – what problem will it solve for people? Truly successful businesses solve a very real problem in their ideal customers lives. Does the product or service you want to offer solve a problem that you KNOW a large number of people are struggling with?
Once you’re sure your idea is a winner, the next step is to equip yourself with the know-how. Do you have the knowledge, the skills or the tools to provide this solution or are there some things you need to learn? Get equipped. You can access learning of every kind these days without even leaving your home. So find someone who knows what you need to know and get them to teach you. YouTube provides us with free tutorials on almost anything and there are books and free self study courses out there but you’re going to learn faster and learn to a higher standard if you invest in yourself for this part – Learn from the best with a proven track record if you’re serious about having your own business.
Now you know how to actually provide your solution to your customers. It’s time to get some customers! That’s right, get some customers before you create anything because you don’t want to spend lots of time and money creating something that nobody actually wants to buy. It’s called pre-selling and it’s the smart way to get started. Put the word out, survey your ideal audience, then take orders for your product or service and THEN go away and build it or create it.
The fourth step is to deliver and over deliver. Give your customers the BEST experience of doing business with you and ask for their feedback and testimonials. You’re at the early stages of business and there are bound to be areas for improvement. Your first customers are going to give you the valuable feedback you need to refine your business.
And lastly, share your reviews, build your social proof and reputation so that you attract more customers while you are going through this initial validation period of your new business.
These five steps are here to simplify the route map for you to get started, get up and running and out of the gate. But that is just the beginning.
It is so important to develop systems within your business to ensure you manage your time effectively so that you don’t end up trying to do ALL of the things ALL of the time and then the very thing you were so excited and passionate about becomes the bain of your life!
There is always someone several chapters ahead of you on the same journey and plenty of opportunity to work with the right coaches and mentors to keep you on track and loving what you do.

Sleep Regression Tips 2021 – What You Should Know
Aah Sleep regressions, the 4 month sleep regression, the 8 month sleep regression, the 18 month sleep regression…how many are there?
Are you wondering what to look out for with a sleep regression or how to get through one?
What if I told you there was no such thing as a regression with sleep?! ; )
You’ll hear the term sleep regression batted around the parenting world and what it basically means is that a little one’s sleep has got worse than it was – things seem to have slipped backwards and thus the term regression.
However, the sleep not being as good as it was is actually the effect of the problem, not the cause.
The cause is your little one reached a developmental milestone, they leaped forward in some way. Maybe in brain development or physically even emotionally or socially, in some way, they have grown and developed and I’d actually say, PROgressed.
As your little one makes this kind of progress with their development, inevitably their sleep needs change too. Of course, we don’t need to nap like a newborn our whole lives do we? And as your baby grows, his or stamina increases, he is able to be awake for longer but still needs to get the right amount of sleep at the right intervals. It’s constantly changing as they grow!
The reason this PROgress causes a worsening effect with sleep sometimes is because we rarely know what to do to accommodate our growing baby.
No one tells us how much we need to increase their wakeful window by each month or how long they ought to be sleeping for and how many times per day and, even if they did, there are so many nuances to consider with each individual baby including their little character traits which can deceive us. They don’t always tell us what they need in terms of sleep and we need to be in the know if we’re going to help them get the sleep they need.
Don’t worry, you’re not supposed to know everything. You can’t be an expert at everything otherwise we wouldn’t have doctors and midwives or teachers or dentists – if we knew the answers to everything for our children, we wouldn’t need any of these professionals. Sleep is a highly specialised subject, it’s complex, the solution for one is totally different to the solution for another (much like dental care), so don’t beat yourself up if you feel stuck or feel like nothing you try seems to work – you’re not alone, in fact you’re in the majority, most parents don’t know how to help their children to sleep better!
So how do you navigate these so-called regressions? Firstly spot the progression!
This is why they are linked to such milestone ages like 4 months, 8 months and 18 months – You’ll probably find a ‘regression’ for any age if you search but all it means is your little one is progressing in some way and they need you to help shift their sleep patterns in line with where they are now.
All you need to do to get through a ‘Sleep PROgression’ is to check in on how much sleep your little one ought to be getting and at what sort of intervals and if you struggle to get them to fit that rhythm or they’re already a bit over tired, you need to work on some topping up to replenish their sleep tank until they are good on the ideal sleep pattern for their developmental stage.
Sometimes a few small adjustments is all it takes, other times it can be more challenging to spot exactly what needs to be adjusted and that’s where having a pair of outside, expert eyes on things can make the world of difference.
We’d love to hear from you in the comments about the tricky patches you have gone through or find yourself stuck in right now! Can you see how it is a developmental leap forwards that is causing the sleep to slip backwards?

How To Sleep Train A Baby
HOW do you sleep train your baby? You hear about sleep training and how some parents’ lives
have changed through sleep training but HOW?
You read on google about this method and that method and you find as much positive
information as negative, you’re left confused and have no idea where to start or whether you
even should! I hear you, it’s a minefield…
So I’m going to put it to you simply and share with you HOW to sleep train a baby or young child
for that matter…
The reason it’s all so confusing out there is because, put simply, there is no single or simple
answer to sleep training. What works wonders in one case will make things worse in another
case even in the same family under the same routine!
So it’s no wonder it’s a minefield, right? I’ve worked with parents who breezed it with four
children and then came unstuck with their fifth, completely scratching their heads as to why,
when they’ve raised four babies already?
It’s about the unique child and when you know what’s going to suit them, it all becomes
First and foremost, you’ve got to be in the right mindset for sleep training. As the parent or
caregiver, you have to be ready and want to sleep train your child.
You can’t do it because someone else told you to or you feel you ‘should’ it has to be because
you can see the benefits it will have on your little one and for you and you’re ready to be ‘all in’
and commit to helping your little one sleep.
Why is this important? Because otherwise you’ll quit at the first hurdle or you’ll second guess
every step of the plan. You’ll doubt yourself or your sleep consultant and without even realising
it, you’ll self
How To Become A Sleep Consultant
‘How can I train as a sleep consultant?’
I get asked this a lot, and it’s often by mums who’ve worked with a consultant themselves and been through the journey and the transformation when they get their little one sleeping – that was how it started for me too!
It’s like you become obsessed with kids’ sleep and when it changes YOUR life you just want to shout it from the rooftops and save all the OTHER parents out there from suffering because you know it doesn’t have to be that way.
That’s exactly how I felt. I felt like it was just unfair and totally wrong for me to keep this to myself and, even though I knew I had a lot to learn back then, one thing I knew for sure was that too many families were suffering the deep pains of sleep deprivation, it was damaging their lives and their children’s futures and that the vast majority of these families could be on the other side, where I was, with little ones sleeping soundly through the night, feeling like a new human being, happy and vibrant and all in just a few weeks!
Others who ask me about becoming a sleep consultant are nannies and childcare workers.
Even if they don’t have children of their own they’ve often been very close to the pains of little ones not sleeping and the impact this has and they can see how life changing it would be if they could help and make a difference for the families they work with.
They also sometimes have a vision to have a business of their own to suit life when they do perhaps go on to have their own children or want to move on from the childcare world.
So, I’m going to share with you the simple steps to becoming a sleep consultant and starting your own business that you can run from home and fit around the life you lead…
First of all, you have to decide that having your own business is right for you.
When you work for yourself and you’re your own boss, you have to be committed to your work-time and your vision for your business.
This is easy when you’re driven by helping others and making a difference in their lives – with that as your primary objective, the rest will come together.
Sleep consulting can pay you a healthy wage but when people go into business purely for the money, it doesn’t go well because they lack interest in actually doing the work. Success takes work but it can be smart work rather than hard work if you get it right.
As it stands, sleep consulting is not a regulated profession, in other words, anyone can call themselves a sleep consultant and worryingly, some people do without any formal training or professional experience.
A mother of five may feel like she has the secret to getting little ones to sleep but there’s so much more to it than that!
Taking the right training is so important, not just for your own knowledge and confidence in your ability to solve sleep problems but also for your clients to feel confident in you too. But a sleep consultant training program is only a part of it if you want to create and grow a successful business. So choosing the right training is the next step!
I remember seeing lots of consultants go through some of the training programs I did many years ago, they started a business and within six months they’d given up! I couldn’t believe it!
I was really busy and could see no end to the volumes of families out there in need of professional guidance and support so why were they giving up on their consulting businesses?
The fact was, even though they were brilliant at it, they had no business savvy or even if they did have some experience in running a different kind of business, they didn’t know how to create a repeatable process for consistently enrolling new clients into their sleep programs.
There’s no point in having the wonderful ability to transform lives but then rely upon the randomness of social medi
How to Get Good Sleep During Lockdown 2021
How to get a good night’s sleep during lockdown
During lockdown both children’s and parent’s sleep can be affected due to being out of the usual routine and rhythms of daily life. I’m going to share with you my top tips for keeping your sleep on point as it’s going to help you through this strange time!
When we’re stuck at home, surrounded by the same few people and perhaps trying to juggle work and family life simultaneously, it’s bound to bring about added stress, not to mention the worries we have about the world and our futures.
It’s a fact that our minds are less rational when we are tired and we have a harder time handling our emotions so during these times, getting enough sleep is key to having a good mood and healthy mind. With that, everything else will seem a lot easier so if you are trying to work while home-schooling or hold up your family’s moods and maybe even sleep train your little ones…it will all be more manageable with a well rested head on your shoulders.
Our sleep is also vital for our health. We’re far more susceptible to germs and illness when we are depleted and the same goes for your children. They’re not getting their usual healthy exposure to everyday germs being around other children so their immune systems need protecting more than ever with healthy sleep.
Of course the whole family will benefit from being well rested. I know only too well how it feels when two parents are trying to run two businesses under the same roof as two children attending their own timetables of remote learning.
One technical glitch can send us into a panic and tensions can rise and let’s face it, we can all get on each other’s nerves when we’re around each other all the time!
If you add into the mix a tired and grumpy person too tired to be able to manage their behaviours to their best (yep, i’ve been that person too), it can make for a truly miserable time – But just imagine how much better it could be with one simple fix, getting a good night’s sleep!
So what can you do?
1). Try to get outside every day!
This is easy if you’re in warm climates and the sun is shining but even if you’re in cold and grey parts of the world and even if it’s just for a short while, a walk, a jog just some time outside for you and the little ones is really important and it will help with night sleep.
2). Turn off all the media well before bedtime.
So for your little ones, give them a clear hour with no screens before the bedtime routine. It’s a good time to play a family game to suit their age or read stories or even have a longer bathtime if your little one needs a change of scenery.
Once the little ones are in bed, remember to give yourself a screen break too before you head off to bed.
3). Keep to a consistent bedtime. It’s too easy for us to lose track of time and get out of routine so set a reminder on your phone or keep watch of the time so you can keep the routine and bedtime consistent.
This will make a difference to how easily or challenging it is to fall to sleep – when the body is in a regular rhythm, it almost expects to go to sleep at the same time each night and we want to make it as easy as possible to get the sleep we and our little ones need.
…Are you sleep training your little one as well? If so, you’ll already be paying close attention to bedtime routine and settling them to sleep. Also stick to a consistent response to any wakings in the night to give your little one a reliable way to get back to sleep.
Do you have a hard time getting your child off to sleep at bedtime or find they are up a lot during the night? Let us know in the comments if this is something you’re struggling with?
Yes, I know, it’s the very thing we’re being told not to do and I don’t mean up close with people but we are social beings at
