The Sleepy Bookshelf

I love Elizabeth's way of reading. She is soothing, but reads at a normal speed rather than taking a long time on each word, like other readers do on other podcasts, including on Slumber, which is unnerving and irritating rather than calming. And I love the summaries on each previous episode. So thank you so much, and please don't slow down the reading - you are the best! (I noticed a slower pace on the histories)

This has been so helpful when I can’t sleep (most nights). I’ve listened to ‘Emma’ about 5 times now and still havnt heard it all because Elizabeth very successfully sends me to sleep! Thank you Elizabeth for reading these books in such a soothing way. Been a lifesaver!

The background music makes it for me and the slow ending to music only (if I get that far) unfortunately the word Chapter can be startling if dosing or it could just be my speakers 🤣

More excellent reading by Elizabeth - how she characterises the stories with her many accents and voices is just great … she is defiantly our favourite reader by far and we always look forward to listening with her every night … while waiting for the next episode the back catalogue is a great source of really interesting stories and well worth premium membership … thanks Elizabeth … Love Kev and Sandie xx
