Aidan studied art and primary teaching at what was then St. Martin’s College in Lancaster, specialising in teaching in Key Stage 1.  Teaching since 2006, Aidan has worked in a range of schools across the Bradford area, teaching in all year groups in Key Stage 2. In 2014 he became Assistant Vice Principal at what was to become Dixons Manningham Primary, teaching in year 6 and working as part of the leadership team presiding over its move from being in special measures to being rated by Ofsted as ‘Good’. Aidan then spent a year as Primary Lead Practitioner for the Dixons Academy Trust, working alongside all the primary schools in the group. He became Primary Deputy Head at Dixons Allerton Academy in 2018 where he leads the Upper Key Stage 2 phase and has a responsibility for teaching and learning and curriculum development.  During his career in teaching, Aidan has led on a variety of curriculum areas: art, reading, IT and maths. He has also led work on development of the wider curriculum, helping schools to develop a broad and balanced offer to their pupils. His personal interest in history and geography and music mean that his work on curriculum is a labour of love.  Enjoy the episode!
