To strive is human, to saunter divine. Welcome to The Tortoise - a podcast that digs deep into the power of slow. Brooke McAlary (author of "Slow", "Care" and "Destination Simple") is joined by her husband Ben for a monthly deep dive into the realities of trying to live slow in a world that won't stop racing. On the third Thursday of every month, join Brooke and Ben for an unscripted, unedited, always candid and usually fun conversation about slow living and how embracing our inner tortoise can impact every part of life: relationships, work, family, community, tech, health, care, personal growth. If you’re burnt out, overwhelmed, frustrated at the sheer pace of life or just looking for a sign to slow down, this is the podcast (a plodcast!) for you.

Restorative time out
I love listening to this podcast and myself re-listening to them whenever I need to break from life. They are just nice, calm and relaxing. If only they produced more x
Its essence is brilliant. The marital banter can detract though.’
I really enjoy the essence of this podcast -
Brooke is really thoughtful and incisive, and the podcast can often make me pause very deliberately to consider my own approach to mindful, slow living. I’m afraid I enjoy most the episodes without Ben. The jokey banter he brings for me detracts from the calm, thoughtful, contemplative atmosphere that Brooke creates
Just love it so much
This podcast has really helped me make my life more manageable knowing someone has been through some of the stuff I have and come out the other side. Love the chats between Ben and Brooke and the happiness they share shines out.
