    This week Richard feels that allotment inspections are looming so has concentrated his efforts on making the allotment suitable to pass the inspection with a lot of tidying and weeding. unfortunately another allotment holder has Dumped some weeds on his plot.

    First item is worm wee which does require a wormery. This is the wormery Richard has.

    This week we was treated to a long weekend here in the uk. Unfortunately Richard was on call so only had Thursday off from work. Because ogf this Richard prioritised building his chicken run extension. Richard is a big fan of the omlet range of chicken coops and run. Having had an eglu go for a couple of years Richard decided to buy the run extension

    This week Richard has managed to get a lot of time in the plots. Tasks included planting out sweetcorn and mowing some grass paths.







    For this weeks recipe Richard has found this Asparagus omelette made entirely from food he has grown.







    Growbags







    Over the year Richard has fallen out of favour with the use of growbags. Those plastic bags full of a small amount of compost that are meant to grow lots of plants in.







    Well this year Richard has decided that growbags in the patio garden might just be the answer he was looking for in order to grow where no soil exists.

    New garden gadget







    Richard is a big fan of Vegepod, habing had his medium sized vegepod for 4 years now he decided to get a small version to grow herbs in outside his back door.







    In this podcast Richard sets up the vegepod and discusses what he plans to do with it and why he is such a fan of it.

    Last year Richard found his perfect welly boot. Ultra light and easy to get on and off which is a big thing for Richard being he is a size 12 boot. These boots can be found here for more information

    Comfrey is such a wonderful plant with so many uses in the allotment. This week Richard discusses how he uses his comfrey in 3 different ways, to make a plant food, as a mulch and as a compost accelerant.

    This week Richard has been busy as ever on the plots. Saturday saw Richard on the allotment strimming and mowing the grass areas and using that as a mulch. Richard also has planted out some pumpkins into compost beds basically beds that he is using to compost in situ.
