Pilot: Independent reporter Rebecca Lash documents the day her uncle George, a retired NYPD Captain, hands her the story of a lifetime. Three bootleg tapes document shootouts between Federal Agents with the NYPD caught in between. He tells her it was bloody, no one wants to talk about it, and if they do, they speak only in whispers of three days they call… The Weird.

A letter from Rebecca's uncle leaves her with more questions than answers. Grief-stricken, Rebecca travels to New York City determined to unravel the mystery of The Weird, but is warned not to follow her uncle's path.

Rebecca interviews an ER nurse and learns of a street preacher who warned of a coming evil. A cab driver knows something of the bloody events that he says culminated in “the miracle.” Rebecca finds documents in her uncle’s garage that suggest “The Weird,” may be tied to her father’s death many years ago.
