    04. Universal issues (Part 2)... Romans 1:18-32 with Phil Fellows

    04. Universal issues (Part 2)... Romans 1:18-32 with Phil Fellows

Part 2 of our interview with Phil Fellows. In Part 1 Phil helped us understand how to read Paul better and challenging passages of scripture as we sought to understand the wrath of God and why it is an important Biblical concept. In this episode we examine verses 26 and 27 and seek to understand what faithful sexuality looks like from a Biblical perspective.
It is worth noting that sexuality is not the focus of Romans 1, but it is used by Paul as an example of how humanity has fallen short of the glory of God alongside many other aspects of our lives. The context for this is laid out in the previous episode and is important to understand first. We strongly urge listeners to listen to part 1 ahead of this episode.
If you find this episode raises pastoral issues for you personally, please speak to a trusted Christian leader or friend and know you are not alone.

    03. Universal issues... Romans 1:18-32 with Phil Fellows (Part 1)

Philip Fellows tells us about his story: how God called him out of his previous role as a barrister into Baptist ministry. He applies his legal understanding of arguments to Paul's writing and gives advice on reading Paul and reading challenging passages in Paul's epistles.
Phil gives us a roadmap for understanding Romans and the passage in question before exploring the theme of God's wrath and judgment.
Phil's blog 'Living God' can be accessed here: https://philipfellows.wordpress.com.
This is the first of two parts with Phil. Tune in next week for the conclusion of the interview and to explore more of this passage.

Great episode 👍

Lovely to hear a little snippet of your time at College Mark 😊

Useful to hear about Spurgeons college and that it’s still going strong-open days and a new way of working with Students

Grace: not to rely upon ourselves- put our reliance in God-walk in humility with Him. Focus upon God not on status..

For God is not concerned about status and ‘show’ He is concerned about our hearts...💕

Mark 12:40

We need to be born again and be focused upon our inward lives, less on the outward ..

Two things we can focus upon

‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul and love your neighbors as yourself ‘

Mark12:29-31

It’s great to be encouraged to read commentaries around the Bible, I love to dip into many of these and it furthers my understanding and strengthens my faith walk and Love in Christ..
