    Waste

    We are living in an era of globalised consumption and abundance and with that comes a whole lot of waste. In this episode we look at how things have radically changed from the post war rationing generation where socks were darned and every scrap of food finished to the current throw away society in which a whopping 1/3 of all food produced is never eaten. We ask what even is waste? Where is all our waste coming from and whose responsibility is it anyway? The war on plastic is hot on everyone’s lips but is it distracting us from a larger, darker picture? Don’t worry it's not all doom and gloom, we celebrate the change in attitude that the last few years has witnessed and look at some great waste innovators using technology to help prevent us throwing things away, or making brilliant products out of leftovers. Finally we share some top tips to reduce our personal food waste.
