Desiree shares her two birth stories, first a C-section -- a good C-section, followed by a home VBAC. She started out with registered midwives but for the birth she only invited her doula and hired a TBA (traditional birth attendant). This birth process was a long one, spanning four days!

Enjoy this story from one of these wise women; one who has taken the time to learn from birth and has allowed it to transform her.

In this conversation, we discuss the importance of advocacy in life and specifically in pregnancy and birth. Michelle asks the important question, "who do I want to meet on the other side of this?". She highlights the role of informed decision-making and the importance of understanding the regulations and limitations that care providers must adhere to and how to know when you've found the right team. We also discuss the power dynamics between medical professionals and patients and the need for clear communication and boundaries.

This conversation features my own mom and two of my very best mom friends and reflections on our experiences as mothers and daughters. We discuss the challenges and joys of motherhood, the importance of self-acceptance, and the impact of generational patterns. Erin shares her journey into motherhood, including her decision to have a home birth and her desire to protect her birth experience. She comes from the lineage of a mother who had five home births -- what a gift!

Erin discusses her research and decision-making process regarding medical interventions during pregnancy, such as ultrasounds and glucose tests and rhogam. She emphasizes the importance of having a supportive doula and building rapport with her midwifery team. She also talks about her experience of going past her due date and her determination to have a natural birth.
