Tiffany Curry: Staying in the Game Women in Business - Commercial Real Estate , Female Business Success & Entrepreneur Stories

    • Careers

In this week’s episode of Women Influencers, I spoke with Tiffany Curry, the first woman to own a Berkshire Hathaway Franchise in Houston, which is also the first 100% Black owned Berkshire Hathaway in the world. She was named Woman of the Year at the 2017 Global Power Tour.
We discussed how she grew up in Houston with her two siblings and their two cousins, under the guidance of her hardworking parents. She shared how her Grandfather was a self-made Entrepreneur who made sure that, although he was there to help if needed, his family worked to earn their own way. This taught Tiffany the value of hard work from a young age, and led her to attend Texas Southern University, a Historically Black College and University (HBCU), where her mother worked for 30 years.
While Tiffany was in her undergraduate studies, she met another student who was pursuing her Real Estate License and Tiffany decided she wanted to do that, too. She planned to practice Real Estate for 6 months before going to Law School, but that 6 months turned into a 17 year (so far!) fruitful career.  Today, she is the Broker Owner of Berkshire Hathaway Houston Tiffany Curry & Co.
Tiffany then shared a lovely quote from Babe Ruth, and asked me a riveting question about working in male dominated spaces.
