Mature Hope

Listening to Martha’s story brought back so many memories of our experience of what our daughter went through after a Traumatic Brain Injury. She spent nearly 6 months in hospital and during that time we saw the best and worst of what the NHS has to offer. We have been very lucky and our daughter is home and doing well. There were points though where, at particularly scary moments, it was difficult to express concerns about her care and week ends and Bank holidays are a nightmare when your loved one is no longer in ICU and have one to one care. I can only know a little of what Martha’s family went through and it was heart wrenching listening to the broadcast. You have done Martha proud. Thankyou for sharing your experience and being so effective in finding a practical and fitting memorial for you daughter.

Polly Toynby

I’m raging. How dare Polly Toynby tell us working pensioners pay national insurance! I’ve worked from 16. Now 69 still working 12 hr shifts ( albeit part time now) as I need to. She can pay NI if she wants. You have to opt out of paying it once you reach state pension age otherwise you pay it. Ive paid enough of everything in my working life.
