Episode 121 - Total Saints Podcast

Saints secured their Premier League safety with a classy and professional 3-1 win against Watford. It was the Club’s 8th top-flight away win of the season – a Southampton record!

Ben Stanfield (Host) is joined by regular TSP contributors – Glen de la Cour (League One Minus 10) and Steve Grant (SaintsWeb) – to bask in the knowledge that another season in England’s premier footballing division awaits Ralph Hasenhuttl's side.

As well as reflecting on the Hornets win, TSP121 hears from Jamie Clarke (Virgin Media) about some of the brilliant initiatives they’ve been working on, in partnership with Saints, during the lockdown.

Finally, in what now looks like a ‘free hit' for the haloed safety-achievers, there's a preview of next week’s game against Manchester City.

P.S - Danny Ings is amazing!!

Episode 120 - Total Saints Podcast

Saints kicked off their Project Restart campaign in style, walloping Norwich City 3-0.

TSP120 sees Ben Stanfield (Host) joined by regular panelists, Glen de la Cour (League One Minus 10), Steve Grant (SaintsWeb) and Dan Sheldon (Daily Echo), to reflect on all the key talking points from the first game back.

Discussion includes Dan’s matchday stadium experience (*spoiler alert - there were LOTS of desks!*), Danny Ings carrying on where he left off, Saints excellent fitness levels and also strong rumours that a former TSP contributor may have completely changed his stance on ‘must win’ predictions!

The episode also previews Saints next Premier League fixture – at home to Arsenal this coming Thursday - including Glen's views on Cedric Soares being injured again!

    FOOTBALL. IS. BACK!!

Yes, give or take a few days, the English Premier League is returning to the pitch to complete the 2019-20 season.

TSP119 sees Ben Stanfield (Host), Glen de la Cour (LeagueOneMinus10), Joe Prince-Wright (NBC Sports) and Dan Sheldon (Daily Echo) get together to chat all things #ProjectRestart.

There's also reaction to Ralph Hasenhüttl's new 4 year contract, the stability that brings Saints and how Ralph/the Club now go about implementing the 'SFC Playbook'.

Lastly, ahead of visiting Carrow Road, the guys chat about preparations for Norwich City and provide their normal (uneducated!) match predictions.

Episode 118 - Total Saints Podcast

Episode 118 - Total Saints Podcast

    “How many? How many?”........*wallop*!!

Yes, Neil Heaney was only at Saints for a fairly short period, but he still made quite an impact – not least on Spurs' full-back, Dean Austin!

Indeed TSP Host, Ben Stanfield, still rates Neil as one of the players he most enjoyed watching during the mid-90s.

Having started life at Arsenal, under the stewardship of George Graham, he moved to The Dell in 1994, after Alan Ball had made his move.

TSP118 sees Neil talk about his journey from Highbury to the South Coast, the impact Bally had on his career, playing alongside the likes of Matt Le Tissier & Ronnie Ekelund, serving up some well-deserved revenge on Spurs and more!

It's yet another interesting Total Recall from TSP, your dedicated weekly podcast going to the heart of all things SaintsFC!

Episode 117 - Total Saints Podcast

This week we're proud to be in the company of Saints 2019-20 Player of the Season (OK.....we've jumped the gun a bit there!), Danny Ings.

Having grown up in the same village as TSP Host Ben Stanfield, Danny takes some time to chat about life at Netley Rec, his personal reflections on the season, scoring/knee-sliding at Fratton Park (in the 4-0 South Coast demolition vs Pompey!) and Project Restart.

As if Danny's presence isn't enough, Greg Baker (Head of Saints Foundation) also joins us for TSP117. Discussion with Greg covers the incredible work his team continue to deliver to the people of Southampton.

Whether its hot meals via FareShare, delivering prescriptions or running soccer schools for NHS Workers' children, the Foundation remain as committed as ever to supporting our great City.

Finally, Greg also talks about another one of his passions - collecting a certain type of football memorabilia!

Episode 116 - Total Saints Podcast

    TSP116 - The Dell Years

19 years ago this week, Southampton's beloved old football stadium closed its doors for the final time.

Having hosted the last ever competitive match (vs Arsenal on 19th May 2001), and the last EVER match (vs Brighton on 26th May 2001), it saw 103 years of dedicated service come to an end.

To celebrate one of England's famous old football stadiums, TSP116 sees Ben Stanfield (Host), Glen de la Cour (LeagueOneMinus10) and Will Dawe (Saints Archive) joined by Russell Masters, the man behind Historic Southampton.

Among other things, the panel discuss Saints first moving to The Dell (in 1898), the first ever match, stuffing Pompey, boxing bouts, World War 2 attacks, record attendances and, of course, the final competitive goal - scored by the one and only, Matt Le Tissier.

This Pod is simply full of Dell content and memories, as we pay tribute to this massive part of Saints history.

Lastly, thanks to everyone who sent in their own moments and stories for this episode. It was great to be able to share them.

    Keep Marching In!

Paul The Party DJ ,

Still great content

Congratulations to Ben and his merry band for continuing to deliver great content even when we are in lockdown.

Mug of tea raised to all concerned - both contributors, listeners and all at the club - cheers!

Top show

Such a well informed show with intelligent reading of Saints both good and bad. Genuinely great listening. Particularly enjoy the in-depth look into the behind the scenes happenings. Amazing sacrifice from Ben when you think just how much there is to organise!

Best saints podcast out there

By far one of the most fair and intricate saints podcasts. Great interviews with fair opinions and backed up facts. Hasn’t got all the cringe and excessive bias like all other saints related pods.
