Dana Skye ,

A fantastic podcast run by fantastic people.

So, I have a lot of strong feelings about this podcast, and pretty much all of them positive. After being burned out on searching for transgender podcasts when TransPonder got a little distant from my own experiences way back when, I noticed someone on my Tumblr feed reblog a post about "Transition Transmission". Naturally I was intrigued so I checked it out. I was hooked from the very first episode; there was basically no hope for me to not be. The cohosts of this podcast have such a charm to them and bring to light many trans issues and news stories that I most likely otherwise wouldn't even hear about at all in my life (and it is important to know about these things!). I'm only just approaching the end of the 2013 episodes, however. I recommend new listeners listen from the start, despite what the hosts may say, as the only real overly blaring flaws in the earlier episodes were the audio issues, and they still talk about some important things besides. Transition Transmission has kept me company in many times where I felt alone in this world, taught me many things, and kept me safe in ways I probably don't realise; heck, when dysphoria go too much at one point and I ended up in a hospital, the girls were right there in my earphones with reassurance that life isn't as hopeless and isolated as it seems for us trans girls. They're humble, they're charismatic, they're wonderful, and they're the best podcasters for trans issues (especially DMAB trans) that you'll likely ever get. Admittedly, the show seems to focus on DMAB transgender issues and news the most, which may be a flaw if you're elsewhere under the umbrella, but in all honesty that's the content that most appeals to me (and is likely most needed in this community besides), so my views on that are rather conflicted. There are also times where my views on certain topics differ greatly from that of the hosts, but that's a very good thing - taking note of a different perspective is always necessary, after all! I think some improvements to the show could be to include more news regarding non-American and non-DMAB things, but hey, I'm adoring the podcast so much already. This podcast is so, so important, and is a vital crutch for all the sad little trans girls out there. I'm pretty sure I would not be alive without them. - Dana Winterfield
