Two Minute Grills: The Gang Goes 1 on 1.
This is a brand new concept we'll be looking to expand over the next few weeks on the podcast. It's simple: they each get given a statement and the opportunity to argue either FOR or AGAINST that statement. What makes it interesting, though is that they only get given their statement 24 hours before. And they don't get to choose which side they're on, so they may have to argue a position they don't even agree with - which is evidenced in a few of the arguments. Then the group gets to question them on it.
First:
David & Tom hash it out over whether the U.K should ever host a Super Bowl
Sam & Chapman discuss whether the U.K should get a franchise
Shaun & Oli lock horns on division winners getting automatic playoff slots
Oli & Fletch go for it (or don't) on 4th down
Fletch & Sam decide on the most difficult non-QB position in the NFL
Tom & Shaun wonder what to do with officiating
and finally, Chapman & David spice up the NFL Draft, NBA style
We had amazing intentions but no so great execution. So, instead of thinking of 2 Minute Grills as 2 minutes a piece to make an argument, think 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter of a 2 point game where both teams have 3 timeouts, 3 injuries happen, 5 clock stopping penalties, 2 receivers going out of bounds after a catch and 8 incompletions. Think of that as 2 minutes instead if you can.
