Black people have long been significant contributors to American society and culture. We've done it time and time again against the odds and often with little to no credit. However, in this case, we celebrate the amazing story of the enslaved Nearest Green (Namesake of Uncle Nearest Whiskey) and Jack Daniel. Jack and Nearest enjoyed a relationship not often seen during enslaved times, which included Nearest mentoring Jack in the ways of whiskey and in turn Jack celebrating Nearest OUTLOUD. This amazing story of times passed laid the foundation for the Nearest brand to sore to record breaking heights today....and if that wasn't dope enough...its all led by a black woman...The amazing Fawn Weaver.
