Spinal Cord Injury - Andy Walker MBE & Ben Wimbush

Ben Wimbush & Andy Walker MBE are tetraplegic, which means they both have suffered paralysis after an accident. Prepare to be inspired, as both these motivational speakers tell their stories of their journey with spinal cord injury, how they dealt with the change and how we can all deal with change in our lives.

Andy has recently cycled across Kenya using a bike operated by his chin and Ben runs inspiring campaigns on social media.

All of our lives changed forever in 2020 - no-one was unaffected, as a planet every single one of us felt the impacts in one way or another. My guests today Andy & Ben have both experienced drastic change in their lives. In 2006, Andy was an ambitious 28 year-old, and had travelled most the world. Whilst exploring India, he had diving accident just off the coast of Goa. Andy became paralysed from the neck down. At age 34, Ben too had an accident after a somersault on a trampoline in 2011, and became paralysed from the chest down.

But we won’t be focusing on the accidents, instead we’ll be focusing on what they’ve done since, as they tell the stories of they’ve dealt with the change and moved forward. And how we can deal with change in our lives.

Andy has ha starring role in Emmerdale, created a dubstep tune with the internationally acclaimed Fresh using his brainwaves and special technology, has been recognised by with an MBE he’s a motivational speaker that works with schools and businesses to help people achieve their dreams.  Ben too is motivational speaker, and with is very active on social media, with his campaigns #TwentyIsPlenty was nominated to be included in The Movers List by The Independent and Lucosade Sport.
