Julen Lopetegui was confirmed as West Ham’s new manager just hours before the FA announced Lucas Paqueta has been hit with six charges - four relating to suspicious betting and two for non-compliance with an investigation. 
It capped a mad end to yet another rollercoaster campaign for the Hammers as legend David Moyes waved goodbye after spearheading the club’s most successful period in decades. 
And to cap of the season, Will Pugh is joined by three top journalists and friends of the podcast: Tom Rennie from TalkSPORT International and Sirius XM plus Hammers correspondents Jacob Steinberg (The Guardian) and Jack Rosser (The Sun).
The guys talk all things Moyes, Lopetegui, Tim Steidten, Paqueta, David Sullivan, summer transfer plans, hopes and fears for next season and beyond, and of course how many more decades Michail Antonio will play up front for the Irons.

West Ham go to Man City with almost the entire non-Gooner London population, including some Hammers fans, wanting them to lose to deny Arsenal the title. 
David Mooney from The Blue Moon podcast joins Will to discuss that notion plus the idea that Man City’s record fourth consecutive Premier League title, and any future and previous success is tainted by the financially manufactured way it has been procured.
The Hammers are set to finish ninth and will say goodbye to David Moyes at the Etihad after a historic spell as manager with the future unknown and fans still split. 
And it’s left all of us feeling different types of emotional and uncertain about what the future holds.

As final home games of the season go, that was pretty good. The sun was out, we won and most of the fans inside the London Stadium stayed around to give David Moyes heaps of appreciation before he departs at the end of the campaign.
Will wasn't pleased with the relatively under the radar approach West Ham gave to his send off but it was still nice to see close to a full stadium stay behind after the game to give him some love. That was the least he deserved after the unbelievable journey he's taken us on over the last four years.
Also this week, we discuss the win over Luton, George Earthy's first West Ham goal for the club and the part West Ham could play in the title race, which is likely to be absolutely no part at all as we inevitably get thrashed 6-0.

You didn't need us to tell you how bad it was at the weekend. The 5-0 scoreline says all you need to know. The players appear to have given up and seemingly so has David Moyes as he edges closer to the exit door.
And reports this week suggest his replacement will be Julen Lopetegui, who has reportedly agreed terms with the club having rejected both AC Milan and Bayern Munich. Sections of the fanbase say it's an underwhelming appointment but that's propably because the club had everyone believing there was an actual chance of appointing Ruben Amorim, which was obviously never an actual go-er.
So this week's episode is mostly about the speculation surrounding our new manager and discussion about what needs to be done this summer in order for us to continue moving forwards as a football club.

It's generally accepted that David Moyes is nearing the end of what has been a wonderful four year tenure as manager of West Ham. But whoever his replacement is, how much time will he be given to rebuild?
As one era ends, another begins, but this new era will have to begin with a whole rebuild of the squad and a new tactical philosophy coached into them. It will take time, arguably longer than a single season, and will likely need at least 3-4 transfer windows for the new manager to bring in the right players to be effective in implementing his footprint on the club. But will he get that long? Will the fans be patient enough? What signs will need to be there for fans to sit tight and accept it needs time, not more change at the first sign of trouble?
The last thing the club needs is a run of constantly changing the manager until one comes in, hits the ground running and provides immediate success. The likelihood is it won't happen like that. We're probably looking at a transitional season where we finish between 10th-13th, before signs of real progress kick in. But will fans accept that after the previous four years of success, delivered to them by the very manager many of them want to see the back of?
