We Have Lift Off! | How do you launch a literary magazine in a global pandemic‪?‬ Stereoplate

    • Books

Our first ever episode is part of a fortnightly series called We Have Lift Off! Asking the question: How do you launch a literary magazine in a global pandemic?

We have a glimpse at the first ever literary magazine published in 1684, a look into the Republic of Letters, a quick chat with editor Leo Boix from Magma Poetry and wonderful poems and a story from Brittle Star, the magazine for new writers. In fact, this series is helping Brittle Star to celebrate 20 years of publishing. In this episode there is thinking, chatting, listening and a little bit of chuckling, too. Join Martin and Jacqueline wherever you are in the world as they share great writing and try to shake off some of the mystery surrounding poetry and fiction.

New work featured is: ‘Natural Selection’ by Rebecca Shore, ‘How to Visit with Puffins’ by Heidi Beck, ‘Siberian Landscape’ by Louisa Hooper, ‘Crosh Cuirn’ by Simon Maddrell, ‘The Stone Kiss’ by Peter Burrows, ‘Sequoia’ by Jill Townsend and ‘Tomorrow’ by Maddison Feshler.
