It looks at what writer and academic Emma Smith calls 'the erasure of distinctiveness'. Martin and Jacqueline, an artist and writer, talk candidly about their own creative processes during lockdown - how they populated their work with portraits, people and ghosts at a time when most of us were unable to meet up with family and friends. They talk about the heartbreaking gravity of the fact that the deaths from Covid 19 were and still are seen by a wider world as statistics on a graph, and how they unwittingly found distinctiveness in their protraits and characters, and even erasure, in tacit response.
