Why women need to start investing & other money matters - Millennial Matters: S6 Ep8

Why women need to start investing & other money matters - Millennial Matters: S6 Ep8

It seems that for many of us we’ll happily talk about what we’ve bought. However where salaries, debts and investments are concerned, we just don’t discuss it enough.

To help us navigate the often daunting subject of money, today we’re welcoming Ellie to the podcast. Ellie lives in London and started ThisGirlTalksMoney in 2019 to help millennial women to gain confidence and ownership of their finances. As well as sharing on her blog and Instagram, Ellie has also contributed to a number of publications, including as a contributing writer for Restless Magazine. If that wasn’t enough, she also helps companies to educate their employees on the importance of their financial health by hosting workshops and sitting on panels.

Lessons Learned in Lockdown ft Elsie Owen - Millennial Matters: S6 Ep6

Lessons Learned in Lockdown ft Elsie Owen - Millennial Matters: S6 Ep6

With lockdown easing in the UK this week, we take a look back at what our time in isolation has taught us. This episodes features our more serious realisations on subjects like self care and bowing to external pressure, as well as some more light hearted lessons!

Joining us this week is Elsie Owen, who shares how, as a therapist used to helping others explore their own feelings, she has used this unique time to reflect on her own lockdown journey. She is full of useful and relatable insights and helps us to explore what our own experiences can tell us about life post lockdown too.

    About Elsie

Elsie is a counsellor who loves working with people often in their twenties and thirties who feel like they don’t know who they are or what they want from their lives. She usually works with clients in-person from her therapy room in Newcastle upon Tyne, but has discovered a love for online therapy with people across the UK since lockdown.

Elsie also runs an Instagram account and weekly newsletter sharing educational content and ideas that promote all things self-exploration, self-love and self-respect, which we can't recommend highly enough!

Are you having a quarter-life crisis? ft Chloe Garland - Millennial Matters: S6 Ep5

Are you having a quarter-life crisis? ft Chloe Garland - Millennial Matters: S6 Ep5

Growing up, we probably all had a rather stereotypical idea of what a mid-life crisis looked like, but no one prepared us for that same sort of feeling in our earlier years. A quarter-life crisis may not be immediately apparent and is brought about by a feeling of unease in all areas of life. Today we chat to Chloe, the founder of Quarter-Life to understand why so many young adults are feeling this way.

Chloë is the founder of Quarter-Life, a career-coaching business that helps young adults experiencing ‘quarter-life crisis’ (a feeling of purposelessness in early adulthood) gain clarity over their lives and careers. Over the last few years she has worked individuals, universities, hospitals, schools and organisations which support disadvantaged young people to help hundreds of young adults prevent and navigate this crisis. Quarter-Life has been featured in Forbes, The Guardian, The Independent, The BBC and earlier in the year was selected to join the third co-hort of the Deutsche bank backed accelerator programme: ‘We In Social Tech’.

Two fantastic hosts who tackle mental health with compassion

I was a guest on Laura and Pippa’s podcast and I had a great experience. They are both empathetic hosts and brilliant listeners who ask the right questions and don’t shy away from the more difficult ones. I was privileged to be one of their first male guests and I’m sure they are helping loads of women and men through this podcast!
