Every week, we talk about various subjects that are off the beaten path, interviewing various authors and researchers to delve deeper into what really makes up our reality.
Lucid Dreaming with Ian Jaydid - Nov 21, 2020
It has been said that what we call “the self” is a narrative of what has happened to one’s body from the time of one’s birth. This week’s guest, artist and author Ian Jaydid, might accept that definition, but he certainly would question why anyone should limit himself to one narrative and if any narrative must be attached to a body. In this interview with Seriah, Ian recounts his numerous lucid dreaming episodes as well as his out-of-body experiences. And he reveals what he believes made these unique experiences possible: his ability to step back and question any narrative or identity offered to him. A most thought-provoking interview. Cutting Edge News - November 7, 2020
Weary of politics? Here’s something that will lift your spirits and expand your mind. Listen to Seriah and his guests, author David J. West and filmmaker Chris Ernst, as they discuss news articles which truly are food for thought. Could human consciousness be a combination of physical matter and an electromagnetic field? What of the recent discovery of a metallic mass the size of the island of Hawaii beneath the moon’s largest crater? Why is it not resting in the moon’s mantle but embedded 300 kilometers beneath the surface? What if schizophrenia can be transmitted by the microorganisms in the human gut? The source of the Orgueil meteorite found in France in 1864 has been a controversy since its discovery. What of the recent claim by Russian scientists that they have indisputable proof that the fossilized bacteria within the meteorite came from a planet perhaps older than earth? And more... High Strangeness - October 31, 2020
Recap by Patricia W - Trigger Warning: If you had the misfortune of being stalked, skip this episode. For the rest of you, read on. The best thing about a bad dream is that it ends. You may wake up shivering from cold or fright, look at the bedside clock and be comforted by the knowledge that in a few hours you will start getting ready to go to work, where you will have a new appreciation for boredom. But what if your unsettling dreams decide to cross the line, to invade your everyday world without warning? What if the creepy guy in your dream becomes the creepy guy in the passenger seat of your car? What you really will need is a Friend. In this episode Heather and Natalie relate their unsettling experiences with...what? An archetype that does not have the good manners to stay within the pages of a textbook? If there is an upside to these uncanny events, it is the friendship of these two women and their ability to laugh at what is no joke. Outro Music is Sleep Dread by Vrangvent Download
The Trickster and the Paranormal with George Hansen: Redux - Nov 1, 2020
This is a redux of the original interview from March 16, 2013. I am going to do this with some of the older interviews, clean them up a bit and put them up, since now they are so far back in the catalogue, many people may miss them. All shows are up on YouTube and on the website. George Hansen is the author of an amazing piece of work entitled, The Trickster and the Paranormal. He was professionally employed in parapsychology laboratories for eight years — three at the Rhine Research Center in Durham, North Carolina, and five at Psychophysical Research Laboratories in Princeton, New Jersey. His experiments included remote viewing, card guessing, ganzfeld, electronic random number generators, séance phenomena, and ghosts. He has been active in a number of psychic, UFO, and New Age organizations, and he helped found a skeptics group. His papers in scientific journals cover mathematical statistics, fraud and deception, the skeptics movement, conjurors in parapsychology, and exposés of hoaxes. He is a member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. In this interview we discuss; The role of deception in the paranormal. Ghost hunting. The scientific process as it relates to the paranormal. The subtlety of the trickster phenomenon. Liminality. The effect of consciousness on the paranormal. Skeptics and Debunkers. The UFO Phenomenon. And much more. The subject is so diverse and subtle that we only scratch the surface of the true strangeness of it all. Never fails to impress
Look forward to every episode of this amazing podcast. Truly the best show for the subject matter which is varied. Particularly like the way Seriah never judges or mocks the listener stories and assumes that they are all legitimate regardless of how ‘out there’ they may be.
My first “portal” into the paranormal podcast world and one I still hold in high regard. Seriah’s guidance through the convoluted and dense world of the paranormal through intelligent and meaningful discussions with some of the best researchers in the field has certainly opened my horizons. A superb show with a great host and if you’re at all interested in exploring this field the best place to start.
Look forward to every episode
