    Episode 21 - Goodfellas

    Episode 21 - Goodfellas

This week Elise and Jenny rewatch the children's classic, "Goodfellas." Considered the training wheels of the gangster movie community - "Goodfellas" combines the gratuitous violence of a slasher film with the blind rage of an ageless Joe Pesci (he's 15 if he's a day over 45.) Add in a killer soundtrack (if it's good enough for the weather channel it's good enough for me) and you've got a winner worthy of an infinity of TNT replays. Also ELISE HAS A BLOG ABOUT ALL THE STUFF SHE WATCHES AND IT IS AMAZING - check it out here Elise's new blog here: What Don't I Watch.

Episode 20 - Better Off Dead

Episode 20 - Better Off Dead

First of all - yes, it's been a while. But second of all (is that a saying...i'm going with it) a lot has happened! Most importantly - it's VALENTINES DAY and IT'S THE WINTER OLYMPICS so let's settle in and get to know each other again. Let's join hands and return to a simpler time - full of romance and competitive high school skiing - when having a movie that was 12% cartoon and 88% absurdist teen melodrama wasn't even weird and suicide in children's movies could still be funny. Come along as we take a trip down memory "lane" and discuss the surreal 80s classic "Better Off Dead."

Episode 19 - Trick or Treat

Happy Friday the 13th! We thought we would break our silence to say, there will be more silence. But fear not, unlike in horror movies, we will indeed be right back.
Before we take pre-election break we decided to talk about Elise's favorite holiday: Halloween. Whip out your vampire teeth and cheap face paint as we dissect the amazing costume choices of, let's be honest, our parents.

    Episode 18 - Top Gun

    Episode 18 - Top Gun

During the Cold War, when our enemies were the USSR and North Korea, we had but one hope to keep us safe: naval pilot Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. Okay, so we had an entire military, but Maverick was still pretty important. Buckle up ladies and gentlemen, we’re soaring high on sweet ‘80s tunes and shirtless dudes in locker rooms.
While the love story between Maverick and Charlie was the model of a passionate relationship to a younger Elise, she now only sees a successful woman being poorly wooed by a pompous young gay man. That’s right, the REAL love story in this film is between Maverick and Iceman. #TakeMyBreathAway

    Episode 17 - All That

    Episode 17 - All That

Elise and Jenny bust out their denim overalls and sporty rain coats to kick back in style discussing the ah-mahzing musical guests and outrageous physical comedy of Nickelodeon’s “All That.” The sketch comedy show we all secretly videotaped auditions for. Or was that just Elise?
Get ready to jam out to the “All That” theme song and judge our serious side eye toward SNL’s longest running cast member and former “All That” star.

    Episode 16 - Big

What do tomato soup, Tom Hanks, and Bowling Green, Kentucky have in common - well tonight on WLUWT...everything. This week we dive into the Penny Marshall classic Big - a film about what it means to be an adult child - something we can all relate too.
