    48. The conversation shouldn't stop ft Whitney Boateng

Meet Whitney Boateng, part of the team behind #TheShowMustBePausedUK on music's fight against racism.

Whitney is live booker at Metropolis Music/Live Nation and spoke to Yellow Cup Podcast about June 2 when the global music business shut down for Black Out Tuesday, with Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group and Sony Music labels among the companies declaring their support. She is part of a group of executives leading the campaign, which is running in conjunction with its US counterpart.

Tobi Rachel and Whitney discuss black women in the industry, cancel culture, on calling brands to speak out and how hard it can be to differentiate between the performative and the caring? Should we be be pushing the likes of J Cole and Kendrick Lamar to speak out?

    45. RIP George Floyd. I'm tired but our bodies will always be pearls

    45. RIP George Floyd. I'm tired but our bodies will always be pearls

I’m tired. I’m tired. Im tired.

Tobi Rachel discusses the recent tragic events, explores the emotions that come with it, questions why people carelessly post images of black lifeless bodies online and responses to the reaction to John Boyega’s tweet about racism and George Floyd (say his name!). If you are listening to this and you are not ally you can unfollow. I won’t mind. This is the hill that Yellow Cup Podcast chooses to survive on.

Very happy to have found this

I just wanted to say how much I’ve been LOVING this podcast. It’s just been so refreshing, entertaining, educating and encouraging. I love how Tobí Rachel touches on a massive range and diversity of topics all while bringing layers and depth to my ears!!
I’ve been particularly touched by the episode she did with Claud (the transparency?? 👏🏾) , I loved her birthday episode Q&A and the two episode with Kayode Ewumi blew me away. But the one that topped it all off was her recent episode about beating vulnerability to the punch and focusing on gratitude!! I just want to say thank you! You have impacted my life!

Fantastic interviewer

You can tell tobi is a trained journalist. She asks very insightful and Greta questions. I love listening when she has celebrities, I always learn something new about them because tobi is great at making them feel relaxed. I also loved the episode with Kayode and the one on house ownership 🙌🏿
